    Covid 19 Data Snapshot 6-20 – Florida Is Burning

    No state hides more of its Covid 19 numbers from its citizens than does Florida – bar none. Results from private labs, the number of recoveries and hospitalizations, and who gets tested and why, are highly classified; and when added to the fact that like several other states which, avoiding the CDC guidelines, has made up its own reporting protocols, the numbers of infected and dead due to the Coronavirus are unquestionably underreported. Despite this, however, Florida’s “reported” numbers are exploding. Over 4000 new Covid 19 cases reported just today; and considering that, on average, infected persons will pass it along to 2 or 3 others, much worse is yet to come. Florida governor Ron DeSantis has been twisting and turning with head-spinning excuses, but the fact is that Florida already leads the south in the number of dead, and is making a hard charge at Texas on the total infections leaderboard, and is starting to look as out of control as Brazil.

    Hospitalization percentage actually down since April. 25% vacancy of ICU beds.

    This is just increased testing, predominantly at care facilities and prisons, of which Florida has high populations in each.

    Non story...just more tests = more results. We'll all have to get the virus or antibodies one way or another....

    this is false, all statics show that florida is seeing rises in total cases, positive case rate and deaths, but they aren't testing more,

    Most people here (I'm in Florida) actually are wearing masks in public. So let's dispel that notion. But I have no doubts that there have been several groupings of invincible idiots who'd never think of wearing masks and would rather spread illness to everyone. Denigrate those people.     You see the same thing here in Hawaii (minus the moron governor); most people taking the pandemic seriously; and, thus far, Covid 19 has been pretty much contained by extreme lockdown restrictions. But the economic pressures here are becoming worse every day, as the huge cut in tourism has exploded the unemployment rate. Don’t know where this ends, but it is depressing.

    I'm tired of this semantics war.

    Cases, deaths, incidents, whatever, bottom line is this virus is real, this virus will not kill you if you do the right things.
    You know, things like keep your distance while engaging in conversation with somebody you don't know, things like washing your hands frequently.....

    Nobody is saying if you go outside and you will die.

    What common sense professionals that went to medical schools for eight to twelve years which is like eight to twelve years longer than everybody who posts here at SBR including me are saying is live your life just use caution and take precautions.

    I'm pretty sure those aforementioned medical professionals know a lot more about this then the "this is one giant hoax" common SBR poster. But that's just me.

    Correct except the name calling,,serious/critical are still @ 16,533...(overall the highest serious/critical # was just over 17K since start of pandemic)

    So this tells us, medical professionals are getting much better at treating it saving many lives reeling them back from critical.....
