    30 day holiday begins tonight

Nevada closed all its restaurants and bars for the next 30 days.

    Just got home tonight.
The few customers I had were great.

I'll be on holiday for the next month+

    Great question

Before I left work, printed up copies of my past pay stubs.
Filing for unemployment-since their is so many, we will do it online.
Starting today is day one of being unemployed.

Personally, I will make it through the 30 days. But not too much further(financially)

However, I believe, Governor Steve Sisolak(D) might have said that their will be no evictions or penalties for mortgage payments missed. Therefore, I will be able to hold up.
However, I'm not sure for the rest of us.

You know darrell, my mind is running along the same likes as yours. I work in a hotel, so we're not totally closed, but running at less than 20% occupancy, which means significant cuts in our hours. I can probably ride it out a little longer than you financially, but not all that much, but more important I have many co-workers that I know cannot and live paycheck to paycheck. There is some talk in our state (California) government to protect people from evictions which is okay on the surface, but my question is this: How will people be protected once this is over? If they haven't paid rent for three months, that is great that they can't be thrown out, but once all this is "over" (whatever the hell that means) can a landlord then say "You're three months behind; you have 30 days to pay in full"? I think there is a strong possibility that many many people in the country will be in this particular boat, and have no idea what will become of them. Landlords should certainly be protected too and shouldn't be castigated for wanting their income from rentals, so what are we going to do? This shit is a mess....

    Day 3 begins today
A couple of errands I gotta run today

One of them is I got a *********** for a hundred bucks that I gotta go cash.
I sent $100 out to a friend in January for fantasy baseball

Anyways, I go to a bank in a grocery store
I'll look for some actual meat, but goddam, phuckin hoarders took all the meats that I like to cook with at the grocery stores I've been to so far.

    Filed for unemployment yesterday.
According to what I qualify for, I'll be okay.
I don't think I'll need that Federal extra money they're debating, so I won't need that

Since I can't gamble, or really go anywhere, the money I get from unemployment will easily pay my bills and give me enough to pay bills and eat.

Realistically, I will stress out until I get that first unemployment check.
    Should be okay though.
When they asked who I worked for, my company's name was in their already, so good on them.

Checked my status online and I got officially approved and 'paid.'

Applied 5-6 days ago, today I got the status updated today, so it's moving in the right direction.

Just got to check my mail everyday until I see a check or a debit card(people say they get a debit card and not a check).
So, I got an even more positive attitude.

Darrell (and anyone else needing to collect unemployment)--be careful with the 'no taxes removed' joy. Twelve or so years ago I was in some bad times and I had to collect unemployment for awhile. I too received the "full" amount, with no taxes. However, I didn't read all the fine print at the time of applying--there was an option for me to have the taxes removed each payment or pay taxes during the regular tax filing. The next year I filed taxes I was on the hook for a boatload of money. I imagine that it differs by state so perhaps it's a moot point in Nevada and there are simply no taxes period, but there sure as hell were in California at the time I was receiving benefits.

    Good point.
No state income tax in Nevada. Only federal, which is one of the best things about living here.
I can worry about the tax thing next year. Need to pay rent next month.

Sunday night, I filled for weekly unemployment
it asks 5 employers that i applied to(used Indeed.com for employers to apply)
Monday(yesterday), checked my status. Said I got paid. Checked debit card and it wasn't there.
This morning(Tuesday), checked my card and I got paid.

This is my second payment. Looks like I should have a steady flow of income by getting paid every Tuesday
Us bartenders and waiters, normally don't report all of our tips, therefore we know that when something like this happens, we will make a significant reduction

    But I'm not gonna complain
I'm making hundreds less a week(200-500 a week depending how good the tips were that week)
I'm getting enough, to get by and with nothing to do, I don't feel like I have to make uncomfortable financial decisions

    So I'm doing good.

It looks like we extended to April 30th(Nevada)
    My work said mid-May

For me, it's a stay-cation, at this point. Unemployment kicked in and things are good.

Filed weekly claim Sunday. Got paid Wednesday
The week before, filed Sunday, got paid Tuesday.
Maybe it was a day slower because more people furloughed.
Boyd gaming just furloughed their employees this week. Stations casinos will keep paying their people into May.

I, still, have some co-workers that are still struggling to get their first unemployment payment, while I'm on my 3rd. It must be a tech issue. Not enough servers, maybe, idk.

Procrastinated, but finally e-filed yesterday to get the 1200 from federal.

Bus is free in town now. Weird site to see that the front of the buses are all taped off to protect drivers from the virus. Passengers go in and out through the backdoor.

Earlier this week, felt kind of bad but not really. At the grocery store, ratchet bitch tried cutting in front of me when I was following the social distancing. Made a small scene yelling at her. Looking back on it, dont feel bad. Lots of trashy ratchets in Las Vegas.

You live paycheck to paycheck and needed unemployment check right away to pay “rent”. You might want to look in the mirror first before calling anybody trashy ratchet.

Unemployment piling up. Got the extra 600 added also

Was supposed to go to work tomorrow, but, Nevada is closed till at least May.

Yesterday, mayor of Las Vegas, demanding from Governor to lift these restrictions
So, their is a possibility that we might open back up in a couple of weeks.
Imo, I really don't know what this state is gonna do
