    Not implausible. Years ago , I heard Matthews on his show, and it was clear they were friendly. I believe it was prior to GW Bush's first election. Matthews said he didn't know who he would vote for. Rush teased that when Matthews pulled the curtain, he would always vote Democrat.

    Matthews voted for W in 2000. Was a fan of HW and thought mistakenly his foreign policy would mirror his dad. I believe there is a YouTube video out there explaining why he voted for him and how he felt duped.
