Observation of playing poker at different times of the day

    PokerStars micro stakes $.02-$.05NL.

I recently made an observation about the different playing styles of people at different times of the day. I live in Colorado so I am in the Mountain Time zone. I was playing this past Friday night from about 6-11p and I was getting killed. There were some pretty aggressive players and alot of loose play. I was playing somewhat tight to try to counter the loose play of the table but it did not work.

The complete opposite was the case on Sunday morning 7-10a. There were tight players and there were hardly any preflop raises except with good cards. I changed my play to a loose agressive style which proved to be very good. I was able to double my initial buyin in about 2 hours on 2 tables.

So my question to the forum is this, what would you think is the reason for the vast difference in play at those times? I want to be able to use the information to become more profitable. If I get killed every friday night, I won't play on that night, I will only play when it is best for me.

Table selection and opponent selection is very important to the bottom line, but at those limits you should be able to win at any time. I'd just focus on getting as many hands in as possible to build your experience and focus on table selection more as you move up.
The reason for the differences in play style are casual players on Friday night and more serious players early Sunday. Casual players like to bluff a lot especially at the lower limits, they get a rush from bluffing or calling down with weak hands. Just wait for good hands and bet BIG when you hit one, the biggest mistake players make at lower limits is calling too much, so make them pay when you have a hand, fold if you don't you can't push a calling station donk off a hand, just make them pay when you hit. They'll pay you off on weak draws too, so just bet when you have a hand fold when you don't and you'll beat the loose tables.
Another reason on stars for the differences in play styles can be the different countries playing on the site, but in general weekend nights are the times more casual players are in the games making the games looser. Don't get discouraged if you get sucked out on in the loose games, it will happen more often against bad players. It gets frustrating, but it only happens because your opponents make mistakes calling with weaker hands and get lucky. The more mistakes they make in the long run the more money you will make. You want them to call you with weaker hands, so if you get sucked out on it means you got your money in with the best hand, that's how you win money so just ride out the bad luck and you'll be paid off.
You might want to consider playing at a site with rakeback. It will greatly increase your winrate. Full Tilt with rakeback should be more profitable. True Poker is a small site but a lot of bad players, you can get rakeback there and as long as you only play two tables I'm sure you'd win more than on Stars. I say only two tables because it's a small site low traffic. Wherever you play I'd look for rakeback, I like stars software but without rakeback or supernova it's just not worth it to me.

On Fulltilt and Pokerstars, I have found Sunday evening's the worst for +EV. As you all have stated, Fridays seem to be the best.

    Thanks,

One of my favorite times is in the early early morning on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (like 1-4 am) when the sit and gos seem to be full of drunk donkeys. Very profitable time for me.

    casino cash

Two of the most popular card games are traditionally poker and blackjack. At one time these two gambling purchased some criminal overtones, as firmly associated with gangsters and illegal casinos. Gradually, however, to the "morals" poker back with intelligence, as the main feature, which should have a player that plays poker.

Black Jack was and still is attractive due to its unpredictability, a certain eccentricity. If I may say so, the poker and blackjack are slightly different audience, and at the same time, the player who prefers to all poker games, can sometimes afford to relax by playing blackjack. So, what were they rivals.
    POKER

We will not find out which of these games is better, worse - it obviously incorrect statement of the question. Both games have an army of fans and deserve already own personal monument. Despite the fact that this game card, and thus related, there are nuances that allow them to accurately separated from each other.

Dynamics Blackjack attracts players who are not willing to spend time on the long process of collecting combinations in poker. In addition, not all bluff given skill, and remain calm in a situation when it comes to a clear defeat, not everyone will be able to, but it's elemental skill a good poker player.
    Slots Cash

Also in Blackjack is an obvious plus - the opportunity to raise the amount of winning, just doubling the bet. Once received and enshrined in the first days, knowledge will be enough players for the rest of life, whereas in poker will require permanent self. Already then, to remember all the combinations, leaving some time, and only through maps and even more so can not overpower everyone.

What can I say - play blackjack is still easier than poker, although it is not so profitable. Perhaps precisely because of profitability, many players around the world, and even more so - in Russia - choosing poker? Indeed, professionals in the field of poker, WSOP champions, and several thousand first-class players have tens of thousands of dollars on a single game. Nevertheless, the money given to them quite easy. Night games, constant control of the casino, increased attention, the constant tension in the process of playing a negative impact on any player. Casino Games

So, blackjack and poker are hardly games-rivals. They coexist peacefully in a world of gambling, have their difficulties, and its advantages. But it is obvious that a good player in blackjack is unlikely to be equivalent to a poker player.
