I was sure they were both based in Cyprus and they both use the same software ... ?

I was just about to reload there as my balance was down to .09. I do have commission credits there but this would be forfeited correct?

Nice forgetwallstreet. You did the b2b transfer because of what you been reading the last 2 weeks right?

I thought about it but never put much thought because i read that the rumors were false and i thought they would at least allow the b2b transfer as an option if they did leave the u.s.

9/11 was the beginning of the end for low key financial transactions

I RECENTLY stated that Johnny Detroit(Pregame)had warned that something was up with Matchbook concerning book to book transfers!I absolutely love being a USA citizen BUT our government continually stuck our nose into other countries affairs & caused these CRAZY religious zealots with plenty of financial clout to start a war of terror against us!Their return on investment has been HUGE considering how much the USA has now had to spend to protect it's citizens & interests. That's why those damn USA moron politicians had to sneak that illegal overseas wagering portion into the Patriot Act

I can't believe they have the balls to charge a $35 fee.

Fixed your post. It seemed highly improbable that Dozer would go back on his previous statements wrt to Matchbook without legitimate intel.

What did you expect them to do? I still love matchbook.. I don't care!

35 dollar fee compared to the amount I saved in commission over the years.

I got rich because of Matchbook..

All I had to do was LAY that favourite.

Matchbook just did something I really don't appreciate...

I had 6 pending check withdrawals... meaning the money had been removed from my account but I have not received any of those checks yet. I just saw that they have refunded 5 of the checks. I guess 1 is in transit and the others have not even been cut yet. This would mean that a check which was processed (meaning the money taken from my account) back on 2/15 has not been cut. Clearly they knew exactly when this was going to happen. And now those funds have been lumped into my account.

    WTF?

    FML.

Pinny already offered 1 free w/d a month, though, a free w/d was par for the course...

mb has always charged me for w/d's, so its to be expected.

If $35 is a big deal to you, get a job at mcdonalds or something.

Well Matchbook always offered checks and b2b and are now offering neither.
Pinny had no problem doing b2b.

And another thing, who the f*ck wants to send all their bank account info in an email?!?!
At least let me call and give the info on the phone. I feel uncomfortable sending that info in an email.

    From 2+2 thread:

Matchbook has been advised by it's legal council that B2B (inter-book) transfers could be seen as a violation of US law.
That is from a poster who has said he is affiliated with the new ownership. He is a high roller and it is extremely unlikely he is just trolling.

Betmaker is primed to take this and run. I have never even looked at their site until now but......they have the old matchbook commission structure where loser pays no commission and winner pays 2%. You cannot beat that and backed by chris too. Just make the switch I think this is going to be a huge deal.

edit: nevermind the commission is not like that. Its based on how much you put in action and how often.

Why else would they pull out?

They have a good platform, but can't solve the problem of liquidity without the ability to legally advertise. Many of the Euro books advertise during sports events. That's how Matchbook, if they have enough capital, can compete with Betfair.

In China government blocked the Google and Youtube as stated- to protect their citizens ...FROM THEMSELVES? The general attitude is
" You don't need to think, we think for you, that also is for your own protection! " Sounds familiar?

WBX tried this and failed miserably. Incumbency (and the liquidity that comes with it) in the exchange business is such a huge obstacle that even the big UK books realised they would not be able to supplant Betfair with an alternative.

Trying to take Betfair on head to head is a non-starter. Whatever MB morphs into, if it remains as an exchange platform, it needs to have niche appeal.

Betmaker's commission structure seems complicated and high; I will have to look into it more carefully. I believe most of Matchbook's customers will migrate there....I know I will probably do so in the next week or two.

While this is bad news for you guys in the US, it could turn out to be good news in the making for European bettors, if the new ownership manages Matchbook in a way that theres a good liquidity on European sports and with current commission structure we`ll have at last a viable alternative to Betfair`s monopoly.
I`d really love this to happen
