If they let Georgia in then they are doing the playoffs a disservice, Georgia is 48-1 vs all other teams since 2020 and 1-3 vs Bama.

nobody wants to play bama, nobody

    - no SEC champion has ever been left out of the 4 team CFP. Bama would be the first to be left out in 10 years

    - no Undefeated Power 5 school has ever missed thee 4 team field. FSU would be the first to be left out in a decade.

    - no school in the penultimate rankings (the final rankings before championship saturday) has ever jumped from Outside of the Top 6, into the Top 4. #7 Texas and #8 Alabama would be the first two squads to do it.

We have 5 conference champions who all look like they belong, and something has to give.

Luckily for the committee, they can invoke the guidance in their selection guidelines, that states that they absolutely can take into account a team missing a key player.

Jordan Travis FSU QB? That dude is such a huge on and off the field leader that not having him out there gives the committee the cover they need to downgrade FSU.

Yes, but it sounds like you're the only one hellbent on downgrading them to the point of being omitted from contention.

That's not necessarily how the committee feels.

    Non Conf. Opponents:

WSH: Boise (champ game conf.), Tulsa, MSU (Mich St.)
FSU: Fla, Lsu (2 SEC teams), Southern Miss
UM: UNLV (played Boise conf. champ game and lost), Bowling Green, East Carolina
Georgia: Ball St., UAB, Geo Tech, I think Tenn Martin?
Texas: Rice, Bama, Wyoming (credit for Bama probably still give FSU edge non-conf.)
Bama: Texas (lost but credit for B12 team power), Midd Tenn, South Fla, Chatanooga
OH St.: Youngstown St., West Kentucky, Notre Dame (still not close so no way they should be considered)

FSU had the toughest non-conf. schedule and even over Texas and Bama. Just my opinion. I know Fla was down this year but still formidable. I don't have any futures on FSU, but I just don't see where the argument is other than them losing Travis as a reason and that would be far unfair.

NOTE: They were the only one of those teams to play 2 teams from power conf. in non-conf. games. Peace Homey187 peace. Hope this helps!

If this doesn't settle it, then I have no idea what would. Ya'll should go see a doctor talking all this madness.

Mine would be last spot either Geo or Texas and I think I would put Texas in there over both Bama and Georgia. Sick of this SEC is so bad-ass bullshit too.
Agree with those sentiments Hehfest but OK ST lost to South Alabama, not Jax ST.

I was just about to mention the Buckeyes! It seems like this entire thread they are the one team that no one is talking about. They are a damn good team they only lost to potentially #1 Michigan at Ann Arbor by 6 points! Any chance they can "sneak" in the field?

ESPN releases final College Football Playoff rankings prediction

With conference championships wrapping up on Saturday night, it’s almost time for the College Football Playoff to arrive. The committee will announce its final rankings at noon ET on Sunday, and it has plenty to think over.

Alabama defeated No. 1 Georgia in the SEC title, sending the rankings into chaos and making for plenty of fun prediction. ESPN College Football Playoff analyst Heather Dinich gave her final projections Saturday evening ahead of the reveal.

You can view Dinich’s predictions for how things will shake out for the six teams with a realistic shot at making the College Football Playoff below.

    1. Michigan Wolverines (13-0)

    2.
    Washington Huskies (13-0)

    3. Texas Longhorns (12-1)

    4. Alabama Crimson Tide (12-1)

    5. Georgia Bulldogs (12-1)

    6. Florida State Seminoles (13-0

I think these rankings will be the final rankings. That way, the committee can say "Florida State wasn't even 5th, Georgia was." Gives them a bailout.

One way to look at it.

Give FSU the schedule of Alabama. Would they still go undefeated and beat Georgia in the SEC Championship without Travis as their quarterback all season? If your answer to that is "No way in hell," then how can you put them in over Alabama if our goal is to put in the four best teams, as the committee's guidelines say?

Just the way we said it. Was never in doubt.

    Now, what are the lines?

    My guess,

    Michigan -3 vs. Bama.
    Texas -3 vs. Washington.
