Caleb Williams going to seek partial ownership from whichever team drafts him

There's no question he'll be the #1 pick. Or will he?

Would any owner even consider it?

Why would that be a red flag?

I am not sure about the red flag part. Danger or warning that this guy wants too much?

Would you consider it if you owned the #1 pick and you needed a QB?

    I dunno really.

But my first thought is the guy thinks he is Brady level talented and wants to have a career loyal to one club.

Kind of nice in this world of stupid huge salaries and players showing no team loyalty in return.

    He's totally overrated
He plays terrible teams and then played ND and peed his pants

    Part ownership????
You would be crazy to give him that, but I have seen teams do crazier things than that

I thought NFL owners couldn't be current players according to their rules. Or am I just behind the times?

never even considered that Dog. Good one.

as per Google ... Active players are not allowed to own any part of the team. So owner is not allowed to play on the team as an owner.

I believe the CBA prohibits players from being owners; I wouldn't draft him in any round.

A quarterback should win a super bowl first and then he's allowed part ownership.

Brady couldn’t even get ownership with the Raiders because they are not allowed to discount the percentage. Plus all owners would need to Vote, I don’t know what the percentage is to pass.(50% maybe 75%). Good luck with that

Good example. My point is this college guy hasn't proved anything in the NFL to warrant ownership yet. Maybe if he wins a couple MVPs and Superbowls first he can demand it on his 2nd contract..not the rookie contract.

Won't happen. The owners have a problem with Brady owning a % of Vegas and working at Fox. Him asking for a trade is more likely.

Modern athlete delusional. Hell, modern employees are delusional. He could play or not play for any NFL team and they would be just fine. That goes for most businesses. Everyone replaceable with a limited shelf life. I own a company that employs 200+ people, realistically only 4-5 people in consideration for equity. That’s after years of proven performance. This guy hasn’t won a thing period. All he has proven is he can’t win the big games.

Rookie contracts are capped. Set in stone. Just bs speculation from someone lacking a clue.

All this stuff out there about Williams seems to be from those with a reason for misinformation.

Oh for sure mate. Ownership in European football is a different animal entirely. I don't expect once he is drafted we will hear much about this.

I don't think that's true. What is true is that rookie contracts are set in stone based on drafting position. They can't give more in any way, shape or form.

I don't buy that for a second. No way he returns to college.
And it's trendy to say that he's going to be a bust. I doubt that. He's legitimately special.

Well part of the reason I soured on him is precisely because you're so high on him lol (Just KIDDING)

Jokes aside, he didn't look that great against lowly Arizona State and ND last week. The trend is just going off his recent performances

NIL means he can at least posture as if he's staying. Would he actually follow through with it? Probably not but it's a leverage play

    some of you are funny,

caleb is the top draft prospect by a mile,

getting comparisons to a college prospect in the mold of Andrew Luck,
    Trevor Lawrence, Joe Burrow.

it does not matter that he had a bad game or two in the last 2.5 years covering
his days to choke-lahoma and now usc who has no defense.

drake maye is way behind caleb in terms of prospective talent ceiling at the next level.

penix has multiple injuries and two ACL's on the same knee in college.

he won't be drafted super high.

the rest are also way behind caleb.

it sounds like a lot of hate in here for a player trying to earn his keep.

you are siding with billionaire owners.

you want to keep people down who are looking to push the envelope.

remember when college basketball and high school basketball players could not declare for the NBA draft
even if they were poor and talented and were NBA ready?

    LOL
