I think it's near a consolidation time and it's time to weed out stocks that might under perform in their sectors over the next year.

I think PSA is one of those stocks. Schwab has them rated D Underperform, which is a metric I described above. At one point, those guys will get a better dvd yield with a lower stock price, at that point it, and ones like it, could be bargains.

It's not the biggest factor involved, but it could possibly highlight some of the manipulation we see and reasons for some big movement.

I don't own PSA. I thought it's valuation was stretched but that was 100 points ago. It's been a great performer.

I'm a little worried about STWD but not selling. Sold a few covered calls. They bought GE's oil patch financing arm in the fall and we will get our first look to how that fits in on Feb 6. But since buying them oil has lost 1/3 of it's value and that major acquisition ($2.5 billion as I recall) could be a little questionable.

the fold would have come mid last year in my opinion when we were in a stronger position. yes, china is slowing but i think they know the rest of the world is too. i think we still have a fight with china for a while before either side moves far enough to get the deal done. trump is fully aware of what the tariff nerves do to his beloved stock market.

mid-year definitely could be but my gut is much sooner. Six more months of this would be terrible for Xi and China.

And with trump coming up on re-election he needs this behind him so really is pressure mounting for both sides.

Before it seemed like trump didn't have much of a chance because Xi was a lifer but now I'm thinking a deal gets done soon, by end of March and their 90 day claim.

A weak manufacturing report and weak results in Europe took the luster off the open. But buyers just couldn't hold back. Bonds too have strengthened.

All of the major sectors are higher from energy to technology. Buyers and more buyers.
