What are the general guidelines or patterns that occur when gold and gold mining companies stock rises? There's a general pattern and an inverse.
I look at gold the same way I look at Crypto. It's just another medium of currency/commerce. What I like about it and crypto is that it is not controlled by governments or central banks. I look at gold and crypto as a hedge against inflation and concerns over the US dollar. When we have a huge global economic recovery, gold should go down but crypto is a new paradigm. I'm not sure it will go down even in a boom economy because it's new and much easier accessible to the masses.

You can buy physical gold, invest in gold miners or buy ETFs. Should you own physical gold or invest in miners? If you expect gold to go up, you should make more money investing in the miners because they only need a small move to have much higher margins then holding the bullion. If prices go lower then you would inversely lose more money betting on the miners as well. Unfortunately in the past physical bullion has outperformed the miners (most likely baked in cost). Therefore, I think it's better to own the physical gold or the ETF. If you want to go with an individual mining company, you should really look into them.

Remember, gold is just like crypto... A beauty contest. Purely speculation. Gold has no intrinsic value, it's not used for anything of industry. It's a hedge during economic down times, which isn't a bad bet if you look at the global landscape. Now the mining companies can have additional value if they are good at mining other materials, not just gold. They can make money by operating which is an additional hedge.
I don't think now is the time to buy gold. People feel optimistic with the new tax bill and maybe Washington is getting their shit together. I think it's a better play in a few months when euphoria wears off and the feds hike rates 3 or 4 times in 2018. The latter part of 2018 could see chaos in the US as I think stocks will be flat here for most of the year. We're coming out of a bull run, which means people will get uneasy on where to park their money. That's a good time to buy gold.

Gold is actually used in electronics like computers since it doesn't corrode and is a good conductor.

How would you send litecoin to a sportsbook?

With BTC you go coinbase to your blockchain wallet to the book.

What is the blockchain wallet equivalent for litecoin?

Loafwallet and Jaxx for mobile phones and Electrum and Exodus for computers.

Edit: Jaxx has a computer version also.

Sorry, I wasn't meaning "you" specifically. I just meant that this is a very volatile market that impacts everyone. If one person wins on a transaction, that means someone else loses. I personally would immediately convert my coins to cash if it's important. If I can't convert my coins quickly, I lwould ook for more options or use other coins. These fees are getting out of hand on some of these cryptos. There's often not a lot of full disclosure either, which is a huge problem for me. I could easily see a need for an app that can track fees/confirm times at all the exchanges, so that you can decide how/where to send money.

About 1/10 of all gold is used in industry. That is a very small number compared to the actual market cap, with not much affect overall. Silver for comparison uses over 50% in industry.

When over 50% of gold is used for jewelry, it is indeed a beauty contest. Zero fundamentals in gold speculation.

Yep, a soft metal with great conductive properties but like you said purely speculative in value

I was referring more to the relationships between gold or commodities and say bonds. If gold, silver, copper etc go up/down what usually does the opposite or the same and where if crypto would lie

Your post up above made me curious. I downloaded the Exodus version, and they seemed to have all the basics, but a lot of the newer stuff was missing. ADA, etc.

Is it pretty much a pick and choose kind of thing, where each wallet gives you different options?

Jax and Exodus are the only ones I know of that hold a wide variety of coins if that's what you're looking for. For ADA and stuff, if it's an ETH based token I just leave it on the exchange or use a paper wallet like myetherwallet.

This means you may have had a few dollars/small amount of bitcoin in your account when they did the fork a few months ago. So it got split between BTC and BTC cash. They just started supporting BTC cash so now it shows up. At least that’s what I think happened.

I'm not really sure what I'm looking for. Right now I only hold BTC, and I keep that in Nitrogen and the Blockchain. Probably not the best idea, right? I was just wondering what else was available.

If it's a lot of Bitcoin, you may want to invest in a hardware wallet such as Trezor or Ledger. Wallets like Blockchain and Electrum are useful as a spending wallet, but I personally wouldn't keep everything on there if it's a sizeble amount. Think of Blockchain/Electrum/Exodus as your wallet in your pocket where Trezor/Ledger would be your safe at home.

You could use Electrum as a safe if you wanted?

Basically what people are doing.... using a laptop that is never connected to the internet. They are using that laptop exclusively as a safe.

There are videos on YouTube how to do it.
