    First and foremost here, nobody is holding Smart accountable for rule #1 or #2 in big time sports and that is you DO NOT RESPOND to any utterances or profanity from the opposing fan base ESPECIALLY if you are playing on the road!! Doesn't every college coach worth half his salt express this in the first team meeting of every year? Smart has issues and surprised to see so many here siding with him. He better grow up in hurry with all of those (diminishing?) millions on the table.

    It does not matter what TTRR fan#1 said at all... even if he said 'you are a FngN and YO MAMA is a FN!" Smart cannot respond to that, just the way it is. It would be horrific if fan said that, and I don't know that he said anything racial in the first place, but Smart has absolutely NO RIGHT to charge the stands and he needs to be suspended to set precedent.

    BTW, how is it that so many of you posting here KNOW that jerk fan said something racial? I've been watching espn all morning, sadly, and they have not reported anyting beyond rumor and speculation. Were you people there at game?

    Any lip readers? Looks like he said the fan called him the n word but can't really tell. But like others have said, I can't believe the fan would say that with so many people around him. Somebody else had to have heard it. I think more likely the fan just heckled him and smart either misheard or he just lost his cool and used the racist angle after realizing he screwed up by pushing the guy.

    Hard to decipher, is he saying along the line of 'get your fkng hands off of me man' to his teammate?

    BTW, kudos to Desmond Mason who came on espn and reprimanded Smart for responding to fan taunting... now Stephen A. Smith on requesting suspension for Smart... good for these guys.

    i remember some dbag kids taunting a uconn player a few years back when i went to a uconn pitt game, there was a rope around the court during the pregame shootaround, the uconn player told them to step over the rope and say what they were saying (which was very vulgar) but he didnt lose his cool at all. i loved how he handled it, eventually the kids were escorted out

    smart had his back to the guy when he was sitting on the ground, then smart immediately got up and turned around, you cannot fake that kind of reaction in the heat of the moment,
