    Clippers talking to Iverson

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4325388
That would actually be a perfect fit for him, a sorry ass team with no chemistry and a player who doesn't play team basketball. So you draft Blake Griffin just to rebound Iverson's 32 shots per game....smart.
If the Clippers sign Iverson adding him with Baron Davis, Ricky Davis, Eric Gordon, Quentin Richardson and Al Thornton they would need to average 6,797 shots per game to keep everyone happy.

I'm a tad disappointed in Iverson. I suppose when its all said and done this isn't much of a bad decision. Afterall, he will be playing basketball whether he joins a contender's bench or starts for a loser. In this case, this rumor is very true. He would rather continue starting because he has things to prove and there is more money to make rather than joining a good friend and win a championship...

Iverson has always been a great individual player, no one can deny that the guy has/had talent. Yet, he's always been a horrible team player as Head Strong said. At this point - his best fit, if he wanted to win a ring - would be coming off the bench for the Spurs/Celtics. Someone to come in to speed up the tempo a bit and change gears. Take him back out and let the real team players finish the game.

The Clippers at this point are willing to sign anyone who might put a few more people in the seats. Horrible fit, though.

Actually a good fit, nobody expects anything from the Clippers, Iverson doesnt expect anything. He will fit in well there.

Iverson will never be succesful coming off any bench. I'd like to see him get back to taking a lot of shots and averaging 25+ ppg, it's simply the type of player he is. Not sure if the clippers is the place for him, there are serious flaws present with their coach and starting line.

Rotating Davis, Iverson, Gordon and Thornton would be even more problematic than the guard rotation in Detroit. If Iverson comes to LA then at least one of the others must go.

why would so want to pick up iverson?
no one who isn't out of their mind would add "team cancer" to their roster.

that shows u hes not a team player hes all about the stats, cause if he was a team player he would do everything in his power to play for a winning team and forget about the money.look at some of these players whose careers are ending, they gave up the money to play for a winning team iverson has always been a loser and will always stay a loser

it'd be awesome if he played with Ricky Davis. Then all they would need is Marbury to complete the loser trifecta.

If the Clippers actually did this they would further cement themselves as the joke of the league.

In Clipperland, Iverson=ticket sales (they think). If they sign him it's only because they think he'll put more butts in the seats.

Why would the Celtics pick up Marbury? He hurt their team, like he hurt every other team.

Why would anyone want Marbury, Iverson, or Ricky Davis when all three have proven to be losers and absolute team cancers if they don't get their way?

And yet all three have played for at least three teams.

Maybe they did it so AI could mentor Blake Griffin.

You know, how to handle yourself, how to be a winner, how to make everyone like you, how to cultivate the proper public image, etc.

"We talkin' to the Clippers, man. The Clippers. We talkin' to the Clippers. Not a real team. Not a contender. Not a squad I'd actually want to play for. The Clippers. We talkin' to the Clippers, man. The Clippers. I mean, how silly is that? We talkin' to the Clippers."

He really is. Hasn't made one team better with him out there. Sure he gets the points, but he has gotta be one of the biggest ball hogs in the league. Ben Gordon is another.

Somehow, he made it on two more teams after this post. Maybe he's finally done now.

    What an overpaid, selfish loser.

On September 10, 2009, Iverson signed a one-year contract with the Memphis Grizzlies.[39] Iverson stated that "God chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career," and that "I feel that they are committed to developing a winner."[40]
And like the last four teams you've played for, they got better after you left.

outside of having larry brown as his coach leading him to the finals in 2001, this guy is simply a 6-footer w/mad offensive gm playing a pick up style basketball in a league where you need to have much more
