This is actually a tough debate. Belichick is obviously #1 due to his post season history... and winning success in NE.

But then you have a guy like Jeff Fischer that get MORE out of his players than probably any coach in the last decade. The Titans have been a tough team for a long time, save a year here and there... Their ownership is extremely frugle, also, making it difficult to retain top talent. I think Fischer has to be in the argument.

Crap, it's tough to not mention Andy Reid or Mike Shanahan, either.

There's a lot of good coaches in the league right now, some need more development, for sure. The ONE guy that should be coaching right now is Gruden, though. Why he isn't is just stupid. Cowher, another excellent coach, I think, will be back next season.

Fisher at Tennessee needs to be in the conversation. Talk about making the most with the least talent.

Guy is NOT a boss. Just carried over the team that Cowher left. Probably the most overrated coach in the NFL.

It's hard to argue with Sean Payton. Belichick has the obvious long-term record. Reid and Fisher are still looking for rings. And if you want to talk about assistant coaches, I nominate Peyton Manning as the best offensive coordinator.

    No way.
Pittsburgh is one of the hardest teams to coach in the NFL. They have a TREMENDOUS amount of scrutiny on them constantly. I credit Dick Lebeau for much of their success, but I believe Tomlin's coaching ability will be judged by this year without his starting QB for 4 games - and so far he's 3-0.
If the Steelers make the playoffs this season (and right now, they're likely a shoe in for 10 wins), then I believe Tomlin deserves proper credit. I thought last season they weren't as sharp or as focused - and that comes down to coaching. There's not much of a playbook for coaching after you win a superbowl - as very very few teams have done it 2x in a row.

    LMAO

    errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. No.

fisher is absolutely terrible. why do you think the titans started 0-6 last year? cause fisher wouldnt take kerry out. the friggin owner had to step in and FORCE fisher to take him out otherwise fisher would get fired.

and making the most of talent? HELLO? give any team chris johnson, vince young as a offensive combo and a solid defense and you will be a contendor.

fisher is terrible. one super bowl appearance in 500 years? and a couple of first round exits... thats all he has to show for his pathetic run run pass and coservative philosophy.

just goes to show half of the NFL public have no idea how bad some coaches really are.
