Yes you are absolutely right about variance ShotgunRua, thats one way of justifying todays bad day for Sando and others. Where I take issue is, just me personally, is Sandos methodology. For example, when he says stuff like they , and im pharaphrasing, " they are gonna be intesnse because they want to show their coach so and so how bad they want the minutes." Really?? Also "Toronto is on a 11 game losing streak" I could make a simple argument that because law of averages Toronto will likely win tonight. Stuff like this, recent trends, emotional dysfunctions, etc.. will crush you in baseball and probably in most sports in the long run. A computer simulator makes that stuff I mentioned above irrelevant and only cares what players contribute in a given game. The only emotional factor I would probably add to a basketball simulator is fatigue of playing to many games in a row, unless the coach decides to rest some of the players..
