Day 6
Saratoga

Race 1
2-Dark Rain 12-1 - Is a tad slow on dirt figures which she has been running on for a while and Wilkes not great dirt to turf BUT drops out of allowance race to claiming where she should have the lead all to herself and though her siblings weren't that good they were better on turf. Dark Rain did improve the first time she turfed too.

Race 2
5-Croke Park 8-1 and 8-Beyond Belief 20-1 are my two prices to go along with fave 6-House Of Friends 2-1. The 2 prices come out of the same race where the 5 had a little trouble and think the race may be a little under rated figurewise as just about everyone that has ran back from that race improved their figure they ran there.

Race 3
Sometimes you just got to ride the wave. That wave being Kiaran McLaughlin who has started the meet winning 6 races out of 8. He has two in here that are uncoupled . I like the longer price 7-James Lane 8-1 making first start in his barn off a turf race for E Harty. Comes back gelded and getting lasix .

Race 4
Favorite 6-Scout Leader had everything his own way at 7-5 last race and still lost. Same thing the race before that to a lesser extent. 1-Gone Local 8-1 is steadily improving and thinking 2 turns at the spa will provide another one. That's my main play but will probably put together an exacta without the heavy fave 6.

Race 5
7-Discreet Encounter 8-1 should improve substantially off debut which had trouble. Is by the new hot NY bred sire Girolamo and gets lasix for 2nd start. 9-Hampton's Holiday 5-1 goes first out for Rudy Rod which he has been doing well with. 5-Nut Nut 12-1 also by Girolamo makes debut for B Brown who isn't good with that but has trained well and gets perhaps the best gate breaking rider in J Ortiz. Because he is so good at the bell he does very well in dirt sprints, especially baby races where getting to the front and setting the pace is a giant advantage.

Race 6
9-King Of Spades 6-1 has a tough post for his style but Geroux is more than capable to steer him toward the inside.5-Verger 8-1 cuts back to almost the same distance he exploded at 2 back.

Race 7
This was already a tough race to cap . Then throw in miracle trainers D Jacobson , J Navarro , and L Rivelli all with horses either first time in barn , or cutting back in distance , or going from synth to dirt , and it's next to impossible to predict what kind of race each horse is going to run. Seems like a few horses will be bent on getting the lead so 9-Ackeret 20-1 and 3-Nubin Ridge 8-1 are playable prices. For the 3rd I guess getting 2 for 1 on the 1/1A-Jacobson Entry 4-1 sounds good as they don't need the lead.

Race 8
Another tough one. I'm going out on a limb and trying to beat the 2 C Brown faves. If the prices end up being worth it come post time will go 4 deep with four of these five 1-Guilty Twelve 6-1, 3-Morethanawarning 15-1, 4-Havana Moon 5-1, 9-Bel Citron 6-1, and 10-Walking The Kitten 8-1. Hope one scratches to make the decision easier . As the biggest price Morethanawarning would be my w/p/s. All but the 4 have my favorite turf recipe of trying to close into slow or average paces in their recent races. Preference would be 3-1-10-9-4

Race 9
9-John's Island 12-1 goes 3rd off bench for NY training superstar J Jerkens. He has finished in front of the favorite before . Will throw in 7-Love That Jazz 10-1 with either favorite Weekend Hideaway or 2-Moonlight Song 7-2.

Race 10
Bottom of the barrel claimer to finish. Will go with the horses who have been running up the track against tougher rather than the horses who have been running good at this level. That's 9-Spun Copper 8-1 , 1/1A-Sciacca Entry, 8-Bold Print 6-1, and 3-Vision Of Mine 6-1 in order of preference. Will try and beat the Rudy Rod fave.

Going to happen more often than not with bulky turf fields.That's why the cream of the jocks are the best turf riders and even the 7 pound bugs can win dirt sprints consistently . One takes more skill and one is 99% horse.

1-Gambler's Ghost is a free square
Race 2
Is interesting because you have to horses with dirt breeding moving to dirt for the first time after starting out on turf. 1-Frosty Gal 8-1 and 3-Kabuki 12-1 should be better on dirt even though their trainers aren't that great turf to dirt. With 2 year olds making their 2nd and 3rd start imo you can overlook the trainers success with the move. Both also add blinkers and are 2 of the 3 with experience in the field. The rest are 1sters. I guess the Rudy Rod 7-Mini Megan 7-2 would be the 3rd. Rudy has really upped his game with first time starters.
Race 3
Tough race to get past the favorites. In an attempt to I''l try 7-Now In A Drive for B Lynch/L Saez. Don't like that Lynch decides he doesn't need lasix but he is above average without it and horse is bred to be a turf runner being a 1/2 to West Ocean and Unbridled Ocean.
Race 4
J Sharp is very good at claiming horses . To filter it even further he is very good claiming horses and bringing them back in an allowance. He also throws blinkers on 4-Frostie Anne 8-1 most likely trying to wire this field that doesn't have much other speed.
Race 5
C Brown is trying to pad his stats with 4-Degrees Of Freedom 5-2 2nd off a layoff. What would a Saratoga turf race be without a C Brown favorite? Have to include her but the 2 outside horse have my attention at good prices. 11-Candida 8-1 was sitting on a big race before L Rice claimed but now she may move forward even more in a very good turf trainers barn 1st off the claim. 10-Adirondack Luck 12-1 has figs that are more than capable of winning so the 12-1 is enticing. Think the 6 and 10 are very close but the 10 being more than 2x the price pushes me that way. 11-4-10-6

10-It's Only Fair 3-1 is bred to be a graded stake turfer. She is a 1/2 to Sidney's Candy and Sweet Swap. Has been turning heads in her AM workouts too. Still , she is a 1ster so could have a learning curve. 7-La Coronel 5-1 and 6-China Rider 8-1 make their first starts on turf. The 7 must have wowed them at the sales going for close to 400k off a 7.5k stud fee and no good siblings. The 6 has been wanting more ground in her 2 races so it all comes down to if she likes turf.
Race 7
7-Hundred Percent 12-1 doesn't like to win being 1 for 22 but is a nice price to add under as he hits the board usually. 8-Saratoga Sight 15-1 hasn't sprinted in a while cuts back 2+ furlongs and drops in class for no name jock and trainer. 10-Roman Revival 7-2 is the logical alternative to the even money Pletcher favorite.
Race 8
This is the race to key in on both vertically and horizontally as pretty much all 11 horses are within range of each other. 10-Iced Over 10-1 has a tendency to finish 3rd but now is 2nd off almost a year layoff. At the least could be used under. 11-Make A Decision 3-1 drops both in price and company as getting back in with NY breds after several races in open company.
Race 9
Could be reaching a bit but 9-Reporting Star 20-1 seems better than the ml. Has plenty of figs that would win this and gets one of best turf riders there are in Geroux.
