JBEX, although it is none of my business, I really don't understand why you don't play for real. I know that you mentioned you are not able to financially, but you can build up your bank roll with small bets. I am not a high roller, but I still enjoy placing a bet here and there where I see fit. You have so many angles that you like and that you feel you have an advantage over other players. So, why not use it to make some money?? I know you are not worse than me. If I can make a few dollars playing the ponies, I definitely think you can too. Why spend all these time figuring out what angles work and what doesn't?? The Horse Tourney site is excellent for building your bankroll. $12 buy in to win potentially $1000. EZ showed me this and I think it is excellent. With your knowledge in the game, I have no doubt you can have an immediate impact and win some prices. I am not asking to prove yourself, but as a fellow handicapper, I think it is such a waste and not to take advantage of your expertise. At the end of the day, the greatest reward is horse handicapping is still the monetary gain. Just think about it, HT may be worthwhile and even $2 WP bet can build up your roll, then you can move forward from there. That is my two cents. GL.

first of all thanks for the compliment mrgnt..really don't know where I fall in the pecking order of how good but have put a lot of time into it going back over 40 years..I like the tournament concept mainly because of the low vig and from what I gather low entry fees..my only knock is having to play designated races whether it be a whole card or just parts of others..like to pick my spots although on some days I do play too many..I believe this reality applies though..if you're a really good tourney player maybe you have a 10% edge over time..so if I play at the $10 level and play the whole card which includes races I don't like on average i'll make a dollar a day for my efforts..and that's if I am good, maybe i'm not..and I could only play two a week tops..just doesn't make sense to me..as far as making small bets a similar reality applies..you can only do so much with small volume..not discouraging others just how I feel..I was a compulsive gambler for many decades ..horses,sports..never lliked casinos..I've been in control for close to 15 years now and not even tempted to get out of hand..with either of the above my main joy was the process rather than the money..no information (pp's ,newsletters) no betting..I never bet just for entertainment ..I enjoy just freestyling on here and giving my opinion ..maybe no one follows or lots follow or somewhere in between..whatever the case it's kept me more interested in the game than I would be without it..as I said the joy is in the process for me..don't miss the betting..bol with your bank and tourneys

Sounds like JBEX you are all in or all out as for as gambling goes. Your call for what works best for you. I understand you have lost your fair share when playing this great game. Now you just post. No worries. I have also a losing playing, and that is why I value the SBR point system. Keeps some skin in the game without getting hurt coin wise. I also play Horse Tourneys which is legal in my state, and can play for as little as $3 for an eight race contest. Again some skin in the game. But sounds like you have waved the white flag in trying to beat the basically for most unbeatable game. GL moving forward.

Yeah each to his own. For me I enjoy the small stakes and then take a shot in a bigger contest if I can score in a small game. Build upon something one rung of the ladder at a time. Sounds like you were a heavy hitter back in your day. I was too at times with sports. But learned a hard lesson. You have this thread of over 250,000 views and that is your skin. No worries. Some posters have stated they appreciate the work you do and that is good. But for me I can not take it too seriously if you do not have some stake other than just making picks. But that is just my little opinion. Again each to his own. BOL.

Fair enough. But still, if I were to put in all these effort in handicapping and I feel I have advantage; I would play to get some of my losses back. Since the tuition fees have been paid over the year, now it's time for the rewards. GL

thanks..yeah everything was on target today inclung the baseball..they were all impressive maiden wins with the last one of a different running style..didn't realize moonachie was parcells (makes sense)and know he races under august dawn farm..he's named a couple of his horses after players(carthon, bavaro)and they seem to wind up being halfway decent runners..have to keep an eye out for that in the future

    baseball play above

    saratoga

    R1 #5 irish danzing (4-1)

    nyb maiden specials (2yo)

todd's got a $340k yearling purchase firster #4 more glitter (2-1) so be no value with him especially vs ny breds.. mine expensive for the pedigree, jose ortiz rides and solid works

    R2 #4 ides of arch (15-1)

    R3 #6 tayler's the boss (6-1)

blinkers on seems to have helped in her last 3 starts.. exits much tougher ny bred claimer to try 20k n2L.. bad trainer and jockey will only help the price.. jockeys avg win price in sprint races is a shade over $40 and that's from a good sample of 10 wins

    R4 #6 lundqvist (8-1)

    R5 #2 bronxville (5-1)

    R6 #9 pink freud (5-1)

    R7 #8 saratoga beauty (9-2)

Originally I was on your pick here in the 3rd, this one is tough to figure ... ended up singling him tho. Hoping refinds that early form 2nd off break... then I’m deep in the 4th looking for a price.

my big knock on the favorite is he wasn't a nothing horse last year to make this kind of drop.. I know pletcher good on the drop but think the 6 is a good price largely because of the jt combo
