    NHL Injuries report 5/01

    Vancouver
Nolan Baumgartner hasn't returned to the ice since suffering a knee injury in Game 4 of the first round. He is questionable for whether or not he will be ready to go for Game 1 of their second round series today against the Blackhawks.
Ryan Johnson has been skating throughout the week as he prepares to return from a broken foot suffered in early April. The injury was expected to keep him out four to six weeks but looks like he won't even miss four if things go according to plan. He remains questionable for today's game against the Blackhawks.
Aaron Rome's coach Alain Vigneault hinted a nearing return for him as he continues to recover from an upper body injury which held him out of the majority of their first round series. He remains questionable for today's game against the Blackhawks.
Mikael Samuelsson left practice early on Wednesday to meet with the team chiropractor to get some treatment for a sore back. He told reporters after that he was fine and should be good to go for today's game against the Blackhawks.

    Chicago
No injuries reported for this team.

    Philadelphia
Jeff Carter underwent successful surgery on his fractured right foot. He will likely need six weeks of recovery time and is not expected to return unless the Flyers make the Stanley Cup final.
Simon Gagne has successful surgery on his fractured right big toe he suffered while blocking a shot during Game 4 against the Devils. He is expected to miss three weeks of action.
Ian LaPerriere is likely to miss the remainder of the playoffs due to a brain contusion and a mild concussion he suffered from being struck in the head by a slap shot.
Michael Leighton will be out of action for a minimum of eight weeks as he continues to recover from a high ankle sprain. Brian Boucher should be the Flyers starter for the rest of the playoffs so if Leighton returns, it will only be in a back-up role.

    Boston
Marc Savard news for Bruins fans as Marc Savard has been cleared to play as he has fully recovered from his concussion. Savard has not played since sustaining the concussion back in early March and should be ready to go for Game 1 of the second round against the Flyers.
Mark Stuart, who has been dealing with an infection in his left pinkie, has been cleared to start practicing on his own. Depending on how his progress goes, Stuart could rejoin his team before the end of the second round of the playoffs.
