    Updated playoff picture

    Same here.

Anyway, back to the playoff picture.

    East:

    Washington
    New Jersey/Pittsburgh
    Buffalo
    Pittsburgh/New Jersey
    Ottawa

final three spots: montreal, boston, philly, and rangers

What's interesting is the Rangers finish with a home-and-home against the Flyers. They need to win one in regulation and one in OT/SO, or win both in regulation. Two OT/SO would leave the teams tied, and Philly would have more wins.

Boston is almost certainly in with its win last night. Montreal had a chance to clinch, but was embarrassed by Carolina. Nevertheless, those two are likely to get in.

The most likely scenario has either the Rangers or Flyers being the team to finish 9th.

The Devils and Penguins are still tied with two games to go.

    West

San Jose (will get the #1 or #2)
    Chicago (see above)
    Vancouver
    Phoenix

    Detroit
    LA
    Nashville
    Colorado

LA and Detroit are tied with 98 points, each with two games remaining. The top finisher gets Phoenix, the bottom gets Vancouver. LA holds the tiebreaker.

the teams I bolded have no mobility. Their seeding is locked in.

Boston and Montreal clinched by getting points on Saturday.

the final playoff spot comes down to tomorrow's game in Philly. Rangers need to win to get in. Same for Flyers.

i really think the 1.2.3.4 seeds in the east are all going to win this year, the west is just wide open

I agree, except for Colorado. I think they'll have a very tough time getting past the first round.

    Washington
    Devils/Buffalo
    Buffalo/Devils
    Pittsburgh
    Ottawa
    Boston
    Philadelphia
    Montreal

Devils hosting Buffalo now. Scoreless after one period. Winner gets the #2 seed and the Flyers. Loser gets the #3 seed and Boston.

Other then Detriot over Phoenix, its tough to see any upsets here. Thats the great thing about the playoffs though.

Very interesting. I think my Bruins can pull the 6 vs. 3 upset, they are pretty hot right now.

Anyone see any other upsets in the making here?

I cant see how all the top 4 seeds dont go thru

    Montreal has zero chance
    Pittsburgh wont lose
DEvils own philly- as a flyer fan i would love to see jersey go out but the flyers look horrible
Buffalo should win but that is the one maybe
