    NHL Injuries Report 4/02

    Chicago
    No injuries reported for this team.

    New Jersey
    Zach Parise is questionable to play Friday against the Blackhawks due to rest.
    Andrew Peters is expected to miss Friday's game against the Blackhawks due to a scratched eye suffered in a fight with Jody Shelley.

    Montreal
    Sergei Kosyn is doubtful to play Friday against the Flyers due to a lower body injury which held him out of Wednesday's game.
    Glen Metropolit has a significant tear in the musculature of his left shoulder which was revealed in an MRI yesterday. A tear like the one he has usually takes 6-8 weeks to recover but he hopes to substantially shorten his rehab with an aggressive treatment.

    Philadelphia
    Johan Backlund reaggravated his groin injury during Saturday's game and did not play Thursday against the Islanders. He is questionable for Friday's game against the Canadiens.
    Daniel Carcillo has been suspended for two games for cross-checking Devils David Clarkson in the face. He is eligible to return Sunday against the Red Wings.
    Jeff Carter is still dealing with a fractured left foot, however he did have the cast removed and there is a chance he will play the final week of the season if not the first round of the playoffs.

    N.Y. Rangers
    Sean Avery expected to miss Friday against the Lightning as he battles with a lower body injury.
    Brian Boyle is not expected to play Friday against the Lightning due to a left foot injury which has held him out of the last three games.
    Ryan Callahan is expected to miss Friday against the Lightning due to a knee injury which caused him to miss the last two games.

    Tampa Bay
    David Hale is out indefinitely as he is in a walking boot after injuring his right leg.
    Victor Hedman is doubtful for Friday against the Rangers due to a lower body injury which held him out of Wednesday's game.
    Ryan Malone is questionable for Friday against the Rangers as he continues to recover from arthroscopic knee surgery.
    Matt Smaby missed Wednesday's game due to back spasms and is questionable Friday against the Rangers.

    San Jose
    Ryane Clowewas hit in the throat with a puck in Wednesday's game and is uncertain of whether or not he will be able to play Friday against the against the Wild.
    Joe Thornton missed Wednesday's game due to a lower body injury and has been downgraded to doubtful for Friday against the Wild.
    Marc-Edouard Vlasic is questionable for Friday's game against the Wild due to a previously injured knee.

    Minnesota
    Cam Barker is probable to return Friday from an ankle injury that kept him out of action earlier this week.
    Andrew Ebbett will miss the remainder of the season as he will undergo surgery to repair a badly broken finger caused by a blocked shot.
    Josh Harding is out for the remainder of the season due to an aching hip which will likely require surgery.
    Chuck Kobasew is out for an indefinite amount of time as the team decides what is the best form of treatment for his sprained knee which could force him to miss the remainder of the season.
    Marek Zidlicky is questionable for Friday's game against the Sharks with an undisclosed injury.

    Edmonton
    Shawn Horcoff is questionable for Friday's game agianst the Stars due to a foot injury suffered last game.
    Ryan Jones is expected to play Friday against the Stars as he recovers from a second degree tear of his MCL.
    Ethan Moreau is rumored to be a healthy scratch for the first time in his career, against the Stars on Friday.
    Dustin Penner was forced out of Tuesday's tilt against the Red Wings after taking a puck the right side of his face. He recieved 11 stitches and will have to wear a visor for some time but should be playing Friday against the Stars.

    Dallas
    Krys Barch will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a laceration to his calf.
    Mike Modano hopes to return Friday against the Oilers as he recovers from having his appendix removed.

    Calgary
    Curtis Glencross continues to deal with a knee injury which has kept him out of the lineup the past two weeks.
    Christopher Higgins continues to recover from his foot injury which kept him out of Wednesday's game and is questionable Friday against the Avalanche.
    Brian McGrattan did not travel with the team to Colorado for Friday's matchup.

    Colorado
    Matt Hendricks is questionable Friday against the Flames due to a head injury which kept him out of Wednesday's game.
    David Koci is recovering from a broken hand suffered in a fight and is questionable to return Friday against the Flames.
    Peter Mueller is questionable to play Friday against the Flames due to a minor hip injury which caused him to miss Wednesday's game.
    Stephane Yelle is expected to return to action Friday night against the Flames. He has missed the last two weeks due to a leg injury.
    Brandon Yip is expected to return to the line up Friday night against the Flames. He has been dealing with a shoulder injury he sustained on March 1st.

    Vancouver
    Alexandre Burrows was struck in the throat by the puck last night against the Kings and he had to leave the game. He is questionable to Friday's game against the Ducks.
    Tanner Glass smashed King's forward Jeff Halpern last night causing Halpern to miss the remainder of the game. Glass might be subject to a suspension in wake of the NHL's recent crackdown with regards to head shots.
    Brad Lukowich is out for the remainder of the season as recovery from his shoulder surgery is taking longer than expected.
    Roberto Luongo is not expected to be in the starting line up for Friday's game against the Ducks due to a day of rest.
    Shane O'Brien did not play in Vancouver's last two game due to his being late to a Monday practice. He will rejoin the team on Sunday after they return from their California road trip.
    Mikael Samuelsson is close to returning to action after missing the past seven games due to a shoulder injury. He is questionable for Friday against the Ducks.
    Daniel Sedin is questionable to play in Friday's game against the Ducks due to back spasams. He did not play in Thursday night's game against the Kings due to this injury.

    Anaheim
    Ryan Getzlaf will be out for an indefinite time as he continues to battle with his sprained ankle. He has injured it three times since mid-February and hopes to return before the end of the season.
    Jonas Hiller missed Wednesday's game due to back spasms and is doubtful to play Friday against the Canucks.
    Corey Perry missed Thursday's practice with flu like symptoms. He is questionable for Friday's game against the Canucks. Perry has not missed a game this season.
    James Wisniewski is eligible to return Saturday against the Kings after getting suspended 8 games for a hit to the head on Brent Seabrook.
