    Patrick comes in behind a left hand and grabs hold of Makdessi, taking the Canadian to the ground in the first 20 seconds. Makdessi pops back to his feet and delivers a few kicks to Patrick’s lead leg. Makdessi sprawls on a long shot, then ducks under a spinning back fist from the Brazilian. Patrick delivers a leg kick inside, then whiffs on another spinning back fist and eats a short right hand. Makdessi slips on a kick and takes a knee to the body as he gets up. “The Bull” gets a warning from ref Dan Miragliotta to keep his hands closed when striking. Patrick takes a couple jabs before running Makdessi against the fence. Makdessi drives a few knees up the middle as the lightweights finish the frame clinching.SHERDOG SCORES

    Makdessi counters charging combinations from the Brazilian with short punches in the pocket, then pushes Patrick away with a side kick to the chest. Patrick gets a warning from Miragliotta to keep his fingers closed as he moves in and out of range, pushing off Makdessi’s head with an open hand. Patrick runs Makdessi across the cage with a charging shot, but Makdessi pops back up as they hit the fence. The lightweights separate and trade blocked high kicks, though Makdessi comes away with blood trickling from the bridge of his nose. Patrick circles the outside, taking low kicks to his lead leg while sniping back at Makdessi with long left hands. Makdessi stays in the center and throws rights down the pipe, threatening with kicks in the final minute but not unloading with a significant combination.SHERDOG SCORES

Three minutes to go and Makdessi continues to inch forward, picking at Patrick with jabs and leg kicks. Patrick answers with a thudding left hand before shooting and being sprawled on again. Makdessi makes him pay with a left hand on the split. Patrick pushes Makdessi against the fence, this time going for a takedown via body lock with one minute to go. Ref Miragliotta breaks up the lightweights inside the final minute, and both men think they’ve won when the final horn sounds.SHERDOG SCORES

    u tell me. I didn't bet the fight and all you guys tailed MD on that one. It was an awful fight but to think Makdessi rolled right over him is comical. Patrick was never in trouble at any time in that fight. Makdessi landed very little and i bet he got hit more even tho the punches were weak. Both fighters should have lost.

    If you think Patrick won that fight, you probably think Diego beat Kampmann. Throwing three strikes, missing all three, and getting hit by your opponent's one thrown jab, is losing the exchange, not winning it. Patrick barely landed anything, while Makdessi picked him apart.

    i don't want any posters to lose money but that decision could have gone either way. Most guys are pissed cause he had to chase the guy all around the joint. If i was judging i prolly would have given it to mack because he had to chase but the bottom line is the fight was very close. Not a robbery.
