Well looks like we have ourselves a showdown. I am on the opposite side of that bet. I'm on Rampage all the way to the bank! This bet is a microcosm of both of are betting styles. I take the chalky probable win. You close your eyes and swing for the fences.

In summation: Weidman is too lengthy and his head movement is too good, he's also more varied, so I'd expect him to win most of the striking exchanges, in addition to being able to outgrapple Machida with reasonable consistency. I wouldn't give Machida a very good chance in that fight.

We will know a lot more after the Silva fight in December. At this point I would take Weidman @ -300. Maybe even -350. Weidman vs Belfort is far more interesting to consider though.

LOL…don't think I haven't done that before when I couldn't handle the near miss KO's or subs that almost get there. 25 minutes seem like an eternity.

On the other side, fighters tend to fight differently when they know they may have to fight for five rounds.

You mean 5? Hendricks probably has the cardio to go 2.5-3 hard rounds, considering he's been training hard for this fight and that GSP's pace isn't very high, but if he can't get the finish in the first round, it's very, very unlikely that he gets it past that. GSP's advantage will become more pronounced as he adjusts, mentally and physically, throughout the fight.

Not doubting GSP's cardio. But I'm not sure if it is as good as it was vs. Penn, ALves, Fitch. Vs. Diaz he looked tired towards the end. His shots looked much less explosive and he was stuffed by Nicolas Diaz a few times rather easy. GSP still holds the cardio advantage here, but not sure he has the cardio he used too.

He definitely gassed against Diaz, but that was apparently due to "injury". I personally think that he's declining, but I suppose we'll find out soon.

I can't wait for this fight to hit the mat…gotta think GSP will shoot and you know Hendricks will sprawl…love two great wrestlers/grapplers laying it out.

I bet Hendricks because I got +240 and hedged GSP/DEC because I tail MD. I don't see Hendricks DEC or GSP by sub or KO so if I am right I win and if not….well, it won't be my first loss.

Bragging because I lost a play at +335 isn't much of an accomplishment. I may feel worse about it if you hadn't been documented as losing all of your bankroll weeks ago.

Curse YOU MD! You being such a good sport about losing has taken all the wind out of my sails! It would appear that you have undergone some type of emotional growth transformation. Oh well. I suppose I will wish you good luck on all of your endevours tomorrow. I am going to bed now. However, I shall return again to stir the pot tomorrow!

He was off in that fight for some reason, I think the physiological drama kind of got to him, like in some of his other fights, post Serra. He could be declining though, but I dont think he loses this fight. Hes a master of range and timing, which is what he will need against Hendricks.

Has anyone else noticed how shitty the champs are looking recently? Barao clearly loses R1 to Wineland and is getting outboxed handily before landing that kick, GSP and Jones both arguably lost, Silva got KO'd, Weidman hasn't fought since and is expected to lose the rematch, Bendo got subbed, Pettis hasn't fought since and can't get out of bed without getting injured, Aldo looked like a frail child after three rounds with Zombie before a freak injury. Mighty Mouse and Cain both looked great, but MM was fighting Moraga.

    Probably good for the sport.

I dont think baroa looked like shit. If you think about it hisnstriking hasnt always looked phenomenal. The first round went kinda how i thought it would. That kick innthe second round was something special though. You have to give him more credit for that. Bendo was sort of overrated imo. He squeeked by all his opponents in narrow split decisions. I like the fact that he lost amd someone more exciting became champion.

Thats an interesting breakdown. I hope he wins against anderson in the rematch. I personally both vitor and machida hve an excellent shot at beating him and i would bet them at even or dog odds. I think machida would take it because he is harder to take down than anderson and i dont see him getting outstruck by weidman. I still think weidman got lucky. Anderson was fighting with his hands at his waist. Machida is hard to hit and counters very well. He also packs a lot of power. It only takes him one shot.

I just rewatched the first round of St-Pierre/Hendricks. Not a robbery. I had it 1,2,4 for Hendricks when I first watched it, but now I have it 1,3,5 for GSP. If you watch it with the sound on and then with the sound off, it's night and day. Hendricks missed a knee midway through R1 that Rogan was creaming over. GSP smashed Hendricks in the side of the head with a kick that Rogan barely acknowledged. Ignore the commentary and it's a close round. Hendricks' best moment was the elbows to the side of the head, but he got out-grappled, almost choked out, and GSP seemed to land more strikes. Very close round.

One of the things that bothers me about MMA fans, and people, is their propensity to overvalue their own opinions. Most people don't know the judging criteria and, on top of that, they're not actively scoring fights as they watch, which is what baffles me the most. Tell me about that time you saw the last 20 minutes of Mulholland Drive and now you think it's a shitty movie.

I've heard this from quite a number of people. I've personally only watched the first couple rounds. Yet to get through the whole thing. The big thing that people are saying is if you judge this fight based SOLELY on the judging criteria then GSP won. It's hard to be mad because i bet gsp and heard about all the controversy. Then i streamed the post fight presser and when he walked it i was floored how bad he looked. I think this fight kind of reminds me of the BJ Penn- GSP fight. gsp also looked horrid at the end of that fight, yet he won the decision.

Indeed. Judging by "damage" is one of the reasons that there's so much controversy in fights. Dana saying at the post-fight presser "you judge by damage, it's a fight, Hendricks did way more damage" was bafflingly ignorant.

By judging criteria, it was a close fight that could have gone either way.
