Global.sportsbook.com rebrands to Uwin.com By: SBR | Tuesday, November 13, 2012
Sportsbook.com Global, also known as Sportsbook.com Rest Of World, has rebranded to Uwin.com. The brand is powered by Win United Ltd. in Malta, which also operates YouWin Sportsbook (SBR rating C-). SBR is attempting to interview one of the Win United Ltd. managers for comment on the move.
On September 28th, 2011,
Sportsbook Review reported that Sportsbook.com (SBR rating D-) moved their non-US customer base to Global.Sportsbook.com.
Players were sent an email advising them that their accounts would be migrated to the new platform. Players were also advised that rollovers would be waived on outstanding bonus cash with the condition that players not require payment for sixty days.
At the time of this email, controversy erupted as it was stated that pending futures wagers would not be honored — though the company later agreed to reinstate futures wagers if players wished, essentially giving the players the choice, the good faith gesture was noted by SBR on October 11th, 2011.
Following the transfer of international accounts, the management team began servicing the influx of new accounts that either requested immediate payment, or had general concerns about the operational change.
The book was eventually given the same C- rating as Youwin, distinguishing itself from the
Sportsbook.com brand that held the D- rating and continued to service players based in the USA.
Sportsbook.com was
blacklisted for their notorious theft of winning players who won betting correlated football parlays. Sportsbook.com accepted the wagers, paid the wagers, then retroactively debited funds from winning bettors accounts, with one player having $140,000 taken.
WinUnited Ltd. holds a gaming license with the Lotteries and Gaming Authority of Malta.
