Silva is a better striker who is also bigger. I also think he has better TDD. GSP won't take the Silva fight, no way in hell. He knows he can't win that fight. If GSP thought Condit's kicks hurt, wait til he eats a few of Anderson's.

diaz hasn't really faced any good wrestlers in a while. i'd like to test him first against hendricks, fitch, or koscheck.

Round three he almost puts GSP lights out but GSP gets a takedown and does absolutely nothing with it for over three minutes but eat punches, and somehow wins it on two judges cards
Condit would've had a better chance if he just tried to hold GSP down completely and force a stand up.

I think Hendricks loses to GSP. GSP won't back up against Hendricks punches, he'll just duck low and shoot for the takedown.

Also, Joe is definitely right, GSP looked absolutely massive today. He looked like he out weighed Carlos by a good 15 pounds.

i was saying the same thing but the ref they had do the fight is notorious for not standing fighters up and hearing about it from Dana. Gsp had homecourt advantage and the best ref in the ufc to fit his style.

You should just give your money to charity. GSP (and Condit for that matter) are consummate game-planners and would not stay with Hendricks in his most dominant area.

Gsp has the style to beat Silva out of anyone. Nobody is better suit to beat Silva than GSP unless Silva had some balls and wanted to fight Jones but that will never happen. Maybe another bum at 205 but not Jones

GSP looked really drained in a lot of interviews too. I saw a post here with an Ariel interview where GSP walked away saying he was too dehydrated. I know that's not because he's out of shape, I think he might actually be bulking a bit. I think he won't take the Silva fight after this, he needed a confidence boaster and this wasn't it. If he dominated Carlos, he might have said he'll go for the Silva fight.

Actually, love that fight. Could end up being for the welterweight title if gsp moves up to fight silva. Only thing is I think dana would make diaz win another fight before he'd throw him into a title fight. Your are absolutely correct tho, hendericks v. Diaz would be awesome.

diaz wouldnt be going backwards that much, but yea pretty close to the same fight. hendricks is the tougher test, becuase of his wrestling and power. diaz has neither of those attributes, he needs a bunch of punches to count, gsp wouldnt let him get more than 3-4 punches off before putting him on his back, but i believe diaz is better off his back than condit, and would be more agressive on the feet.

gsp wouldnt be able to takedown silva, and would get lit up on the feet. gsp and sonnens wrestling is very comparable. silva has better takedown defense than most people believe. jones would be a great fight.

Yeah, I think Diaz has no chance against GSP. Worst style out there. He doesn't have enough power to force GSP to respect his punches, and he probably won't be strong enough to grapple with GSP, even if he can outmatch him skill wise. GSP holds down Diaz for the victory.

silva wants to fight gsp then jones in his next two fights...gsp wont take the fight, but jones vs silva will defintly happen.

Anderson Silva has officially arrived in Montreal ahead of Saturday's UFC 154 event at the Bell Centre, and ESPN understands the Brazilian is hunting not one but two superfights.

Silva greeted the public in Canada on Friday evening, and he will be present for the welterweight title collision between Georges St-Pierre and Carlos Condit.
Victory for St-Pierre, according to president Dana White, will definitely lead to a superfight between GSP and Silva in May 2013, but the Brazilian is not prepared to stop there.

ESPN understands Silva's master plan is to fight St-Pierre at a catchweight of around 178lbs, and then immediately switch the other side of his natural middleweight home to take on Jon Jones.

There is exceptional respect between Silva and Jones, but both men have been made aware of the astronomical figures they would stand to make from a future collision.
At the age of 37, and having more-or-less cleared out the 185lb division, Silva is keen to maximise his earnings from the remaining fights in his career. A GSP/Jones double is his No. 1 scenario, and the UFC is ready to encourage that outcome in order to live up to the promise of making the fights the fans want to see.

It is also expected that Silva will step into the Octagon if St-Pierre wins on Saturday, despite previous quotes to the contrary. However, a win for Condit could yet throw a major spanner in the works.

How? By timing Anderson's shots? No way in hell GSP gets anywhere near the success of Sonnen or Hendo in the 1st round in taking Silva down. Only way to do that is to bullrush him and chain takedowns like a mofo, but GSP isn't going to do that. Trying to time a Silva strike for a takedown is a true recipe for a disaster.

Please keep to your word and bet on Hendricks against GSP if it happens and GSP against Silva if that happens. Do it and I promise I will bet the complete opposite.

Wow you guys are delusional. GSP defends after a huge layoff, dominates 95% of the fight, is 100% on takedown attempts against a top level contender...

and now all of a sudden "GSP can't take down so and so, no way."

Keep dreaming because your money keeps the lines better for me. Sonnen took Silva down at will the first fight and the only reason he didn't get to the second fight is because he made the retarded decision to go for a spinning elbow up against the cage.

Every single person who fights GSP works their penetrating ass off to stop the takedown and he still gets them at will. The way Hendricks throws his punches with so much power leaves him way off balance and open for it.

I know Hendricks has some serious pedigree but this isn't college wrestling, and Kampmann isn't GSP by a long shot.

no way. lol sonnen couldnt take silva down. it'll be hard for gsp to get a takedown when he's backpedeling his ass off. anderson would imbarras him in the first round.

gsp has a much better chance of taking hendricks down.

One guy can't stop 170 pounders and the other guy stops EVERY 185 and 205s once in a while too for the hell of it. No contest. Spider peppers knees at dudes 6'3 or taller so no way possible GSP would remain standing. GSPs frenchie @$$ will duck Silva unless he gets 2/3 of the gate or something ridiculous.
