You should edit that out and use one that doesn't lead to anything if you google it. You're a stand-up guy though and I doubt that anyone would do anything malicious with it, but I figured I'd point it out anyway. SBR is one of the few forums I've seen where personal info is used as a weapon.

Im locked in pretty large on the UFC 166 ppv main event this Saturday, but I'm honestly more stoked for the alvarado vs provodnikov fight. What we thinking for that one Houg?

No real clear though on a winner and honestly it all depends on how each man fights.

Alvarado has this in the bag if he boxes and minimizes the risks he takes in this fight. By that I mean don't get in a phone booth with this guy, you've already experienced what happens when you do it with Rios and saw what happens when he banged with Bradley. Be smart, box, try and stay at the outside and let him come to you. You're at home, you're a better boxer, but if he catches you, you're in for some hurt.

I won't take a prop here because Prov also cuts very easily and if Alvarado stays on the outside and boxes him, he could cut him... Bradley cut him and he's considered one of the lightest punchers in boxing.

Provo can win, but he has to get Alvarado into a war with him or catch him to the point that he can box as well and resorts to being on the defensive. He can be outboxed, his best chance is to drag provo to the trenches.

I'm going to start laying down again after that nice week last week.... so gonna go lay some on Alvarado.

Home fighter, should be wiser to the style matchup, can outbox Ruslan
Only worry is he goes into a phonebooth with him or gets caught.
He has a decent chin... I thought the Rios stoppage was a tad premature... but oh well

In short, Alvarado boxes = he wins
    Alvarado brawls= he loses

everything bases on how each man fights. Of course Provo can catch him with a overhand right and send him to queer street..... but best chances are of Alvarado outboxing him to either a decision or a stoppage... I'll take Fistula's advise and go SU Alvarado.
IMO.... it'll set up a Marquez clash if a fifth Pac fight isn't made.... most likely not since Uncle Bob will want him for Pac... he originally had him for Pac

As much as I'm looking forward to Alvarado-provo, im upset there has to be a loser. Such a huge fan of both. I'm going to go with Alvarado but fully expect a couple of really nauseating moments when Alvarado is doing the funny dance. You seen a line for this fight yet houg?

Alvarado -125. Alvarado by decision +250, which I played.

I'm taking him SU.... unsure about a prop.

    Only problems I see are:
If Alvarado brawls, it ends early
Ruslan cuts easy, could be stopped on cuts, but could go further if Alvarado minimizes risks

Hey Hougigo, as SBR's resident boxing expert I'm curious to know if you have any opinion on the Mundine Vs. Mosely fight next week? I posted a big play with a write up in PT.

No matter what its going to be a bad ass fight. could always hedge Provodnikov by ko/tko. Only way i see him pulling out the W. Alvarado is too good of a boxer when compared to Provodnikov to lose a decision. Especially in Alvarado's backyard. Alvarado could win both ways. Although i see the decision being the more likely of the two. Think Provodnikov's chin holds up.

I haven't looked much into it, but just a couple of thoughts. Was going to watch both of their last fights this Sunday
This is a battle of senior citizens... I mean jesus... almost 80 years combined in the ring.
I'm trying to remember the Geale fight and see how active Mundine was in that fight because activity is key in this fight.
Also, it should be noted that the fight is in Mundine's backyard and he's was of Australia's most well known fighters, if not one of the most popular ones. So significant advantage there.... always hard to do that (although Mosley just did it).

I can't give you a straight answer now....but at the moment, I'm thinking Mundine and he'll most likely be the favorite in this match-up.

Thanks for the reply. Your right about one thing, home town fighters will get the nod in a close fight, but you should know Mundine is anything but popular in Australia. In fact he is the most hated athlete in the country, and therefor Mosely is basically an honorary citizen for this fight. Geale dominated the pace and thoroughly outworked Mundine, yet one judge still had a rather close scorecard, hopefully will not be an issue in this fight. Thanks again for the reply.

Is he? Damn... I need to look back at that then. Thanks though, didn't know he was one of the most hated.
I honestly thought he was popular due to his rugby background and prior championships... but I know he pissed a bunch of people off with his Geale comment.
I kind of remember the fight and thought Geale did a clear job... but honestly the last video i watched was a Mundine highlight video that tried to prove that he won.
As for Mosely, last time I saw it was the night of on a crappy stream and he had moments of gassing, but still pressed on against the younger guy. Hopefully I can DL from NSB and watch again.

You guys.... heads up, Alvarado missed weigh in by 1 pound

    http://www.boxingscene.com/quick-wei...ov-1398--70756

Now 1 pound isn't a lot, but honestly he's been looking soft in some of the photos i've seen and this might affect him tomorrow.
I.E stamina wise and having to avoid Ruslan trading all night... because all it takes is a second for him to put Alvarado in a phone booth and make it his fight.... things just got interesting

Haven't locked in on anything yet. Hate when these variables come into play last minute and make me question my pick...even if alvarado is a pound over, which i don't think it's a huge deal since he is likely going up soon, might be negated by the location of the fight? (Colorado)

I just think it'll affect his stamina going possibly 12 and constantly moving against someone who'll stalk him all night. Might also affect his chin, I think when you have to lose a lot of weight, it affects how well you can take a punch.
We'll see.... because now I'm slowly thinking Ruslan will KO him.... gosh.... I already took Alvarado SU.... might have to hedge it

Honestly, maybe i'm overreacting.... not like the guys who went overweight before lost to their opponent (Garcia/Matthysse (although it was like an error), Hopkins/Pascal II,Rios/Murray, Broner/JLW division)

Ugh, not thinking clear..... I need some sleep

I think it's more a factor of alvarado needing to move up. Could happen as soon as after this fight. I haven't watched the weigh ins so can't say if he's looking softer in the middle than normal but i haven't known Alvarado to be a fighter who doesn't go into fights in shape. Unless their is possibly a lingering injury. Which could F all of us Alvarado backers. Think Alvarado dec w/ a provo ko hedge is in order.

Also if you like Mosely you should still be able to get him at +105 or +100 at 5D, whereas he is into around -120 with many Aus books...
