I play careless once I'm on the final table. In cash games, it's different. Great job, nonetheless.

I'm a bit the same usually. Get loose once in the money. Don't generally care about winning it, and also find rolling 250 x 3 often ends up more profitable than rolling 600 x 3 in the end.

Never got the chance to write a post-mortem on the Friday tournament.

I had good luck to head into the final table with a nice stack, but nothing went my way after that. I don't recall winning a single hand.

Two hands where a win turned into a split pot:

First I had KQ vs. Q9. 9 on flop. Ace on turn, and I believe a second pair on board came on river, invalidating my superior kicker and turning both hands into two pair, ace kicker.

Then I had JJ vs. 10s. I seemed to have the guy nailed, but the board came with a full house. 3 6s and 2 Ks, meaning another split pot.

Then I had AQ spades, Q came on flop (which was the high card). Guy was hiding KK and took most of my chips, as KK held.

Then I had 22 as big blind with three players left. Someone all-ined and I was happy to try my chances HU, but then someone behind me also called, meaning a 3 way (not a good situation with an underpair, of course). One guy had J lower card and the other had A lower card. High stack won, I tied for 4th, and the other guy had more chips going in, so I wound up 5th.

Nice! Didn't realize you had cashed. forget how I donked out in 16th now. But it was within 2 minutes of saying "I always finish 10th to 15th", which at least made me chuckle to myself.

Think I pushed allin on turn with A7 and came up against A9 (or some scenario like that where we were both gambling)

I'll make some time to rollover some poker points and see if I can make a good dent in this before month end.

Well this morning is a bust.

AK clubs, 75/150 blinds, late position, straightcash raises to 550. I'm the only caller. He had A10 diamonds and won.

You must have gone out soon after me. Early. Pushed allin on A9 2 pair at turn, and came up against a flopped set of 4s.

and yesterday in the points tourney I finished 19/61

99 ran into QQ (Q on flop!) and then the very next hand 10,10 ran into KK (K on flop!).

Hey Yis, just a heads up about this in case you want a spot this year and don't see it in time; http://www.sportsbookreview.com/forum/nascar-bet...ub-2012-a.html

Members from last year have first option to join, any remaining spots are first in best dressed.

How did the club do last year? Shouldn't it be closed to new entries until all last year's guys checked in?

We lost everything, but spent the 50% we had left of starting bank on the last race in Homestead, so it was still fun. We did have a couple of horror losing runs last year which I'd be surprised if we repeated. We could do well, but it's really a lottery ticket with so many different people having a go.

No need to wait for last year's 7 to confirm, some of them may not turn up until this weekend. Avssackic more than likely won't be back as he is non-pro but I'm guessing at least 5 of the other 6 will, so once 4 new people say they want in that will probably be it. I'm kinda hoping we only have 7 again though, as everyone gets to pick pretty much every 3rd race that way.

I mean our bankroll lasted the entire season. For the last race we had about $140 left, so we decided to each use our $20 share to bet for ourselves. All of us lost the entire $20 each.

If we hadn't done that, the 400 odd point entry fee would have netted each player about $18 each at year end.

We started off with a long losing streak and lost about half the roll, then went on a nice winning run and got to almost double starting balance, then we had another lean streak.

It's a bit of a lottery like I said. We all expected to win quite big at the start I think, and were surprised how poorly we did. But having several surprise race winners early in the season was probably the biggest reason we didn't do better overall.

Keep me abreast of the situation. If you don't get enough to get to your seven, I'll join.

The part that gives me pause is I don't particularly fancy losing other people's stuff.

A5 hearts, call in early position (cost 300), putting my stack down to 900 and change. Someone all-ins after me. I'm all set to call but then there's another caller before.

    I chicken out.

    All-in had 99. Caller had 44.

    Flop had A5. Would've won.

Still a shot at cashing but not a good one.

Yeah, at the start last year just about everyone said they felt performance pressure the first time. But that feeling dissipated pretty fast, once everyone saw everyone else have a loss.

^ had about 2500 chips at the time.

Anyway, let me know if you'll be wanting a stake to the weekend tournaments (Saturday rebuy and then Sunday high rollers).

You could actually probably figure it out from when I went out (about 8:53 AM, or 50 minutes in).

    I think 150/300.

Looks like both weekend tournaments will have "underlays" (or whatever the correct word is).

Sunday one is likely to fill, and in that case, the 12,000 pool is less than the combined buy-ins of 55.

Saturday one is merely paying 150% of initial buy-ins, and not taking into account rebuys and addons.

Sounds like Saturday is better value then?

I'll catch up with you Friday evening about it. Not sure if I will be around all weekend. Had a family tragedy yesterday and may be out of town for a day or two.

rebuys and addons not added to prizepool is a joke! I'll be in the high roller, probably not the rebuy now..

hope all is well with the family, opti
