I read your whole story and the comments in this thread. I'd just like to say a couple things from the heart.

The points that you lost in the casino are really nothing. A few thousand dollars is no big deal. But the rest of your story is extremely heartfelt and eye-opening. I started gambling when I was 17. I can only win at a few sports but I bet mostly everything. For 2 years, I lost thousands of dollars. It was strange because I go back to a comment in this thread-- I was literally betting "to lose." It's like I already knew before the bet was placed I was digging the hole even deeper. I wanted to lose. To slap myself back to reality. Well, that didn't work until I lost a lot.

Then I said to myself. You know what, it's fine. "I'm starting over. Fresh. It's fine. I'm going to start my life right now" I'm lucky enough not to be homeless and have a family that could support me. I then started working and kept gambling but very small amounts. I saved up enough money and received a loan from family members to open up a liquor store, which I run today with my brother. I still gamble today and lose, but the store helps me recover those losses. Eventually, I'm going to do something different.

People frequently tell me I have a crazy imagination and am one of the most creative people they have met. That will help me with something, I know it.

Your story is so interesting. I am a frequent movie watcher and I think that this could be manipulated in such an imaginative way that it can be turned into a screenplay--something dark, tragic, but so touching and heartfelt. I wouldn't take the idea of a book unless it's a novel. There's no money in Justin's type of "gambling" books anymore. They are not timeless. Justin will never be remembered for his book.

You really have something here. Really. Your story stretches far past the last line on the page.

thanks for the support. it def it quite some story since the last 12 years or so. such a story that believe it or not most ppl simply just dont believe me. they say im making it up and say theres no way possible anybodys that bad or messes up that much. but as i've said before, im the only that doesnt get the privelege of deciding if its a true story or not. i have to live with it.
i might not end up in life with a lot of money or a nice house, nice car, etc. but in my eyes, if i stay out of jail and have any car and any house/place to live and somehow continue to survive and stay alive..then i win.

yes thats why i said it would have to be manipulated in an imaginative way. the tragic depressing story, and at the end, a moment of spiritual enlightenment. we're not talking about a documentary, it's fiction. i'm already playing out the scenes in my head. it would work. something that touches the hearts of viewers without being cliche is pretty rare in the film industry today. the story is not even about gambling. it transcends that, exploring the irrepressible depths of the mind. just my opinion.

Gambling is entertainment and at least here its free. You played, heavy emphasis on the word "played", for hours on SBR and didn't lose a dime. Even if you played here or in a Las vegas casino for real money its still entertainment. Do not confuse entertainment with endeavors and time spent that actually make money.

you gotta take some personal responsibility. self control is under-rated. but since you have none- im sure you enjoy parlays. (they are also entertainment because they are very "difficult".)
