I wouldn't say it's an "obvious" play necessarily. Just think it's a good spot to back the Bravos. Minor fared well in his first start vs. SF, and I'm not convinced Vogelsong's recent strong numbers are legit. He's been roughed up twice vs. ATL at home in his other two career appearances against them if I'm not mistaken.

I would never bet against this Giants team at this moment, not even with Vogelsong. The braves have scoring problems, not only recently. They rely on pitching, and that's exactly what's lacking at the moment. If they get behind, it's very tough for them to make a come-back. Giants have both good pitching and offence. I'd go with them as long as they show this great baseball.

in a thread about major American sports (baseball, hockey, basketall, "foot"ball) quoting American odds in the posts...you can count on what ravensfan said as the way it IS, unless otherwise stated...

thus 2 units at -157 will be -3.14 / +2
and 2 units at +157 will be -2 / +3.14

this is the way it is....UNLESS otherwise stated (eg. for "chase system threads...it's very common to have everything "to win"...)
another exception would be a thread with lots of Europeans betting American sports...they may have gotten used to the American odds format...but still may have retained their habit to bet everything "to risk"...which is the norm for the Soccer/Rugby/Tennis betting they're used to...

but this thread is definitely American-style (ie. dogs to risk/faves to win) exactly as in the numerical example above
