Help getting into Las Vegas nightclubs next weekend!

Any tips for getting into good clubs like Surrender, Haze, Tao? I'll be there next weekend. I know the usual "find some ladies, pair up, bring them with you" but, uh, I don't have any ladies. We'll try to pair up but not counting on it. The other good way I know of is to get bottle service, but that is upwards of $1000 and it's only me and a friend so not worth it. I guess if I meet any SBR people out there I would spring for bottle service with a group of 4.

Has anyone ever got these tickets or wristbands from http://www.vegas.com/nightclubs/ ? It worked for a friend of mine but it seems like it may not work or the doorman could ignore us.

    Please help!

Fishhead - I have done everything in Vegas - 8 hour craps binges, 12 hour blackjack binges, sportsbooks, expensive hotels, dirty hotels, other exotic stuff. But I have never been in a nightclub. They look like lots of fun, I love dancing, I love getting drunk, and I love women. I will be placing a lot of wagers for March Madness and at night I plan on partying and not sitting in the hotel room or gambling like an old man.

The only way I follow your advice is if you give me details on why I should not go. And don't give me what I'm expecting from you: a lecture on bad EV, no chance to get girls, everything is overpriced. I know how you are, you use coupons for everything, you scalp every product from sports tickets to groceries, and you look for free rolls. Night clubs are not good EV; I understand that - I am a young guy in my upper 20s and I'm looking to party with some strangers.

If you are gambling, talk to your casino host, he will take care of it.

I agree with Fishhead. My last visit to a nightclub was back in 2007 for my wife's b-day. We were at Tao. 18 of us so a 6 bottle min. They tack in an automatic 20% for tip. We were also promised front of the line bathroom service. Someone should have told that to the guy in front of the bathroom. Apparently we had to be accompanied by our server. Funny how they disappear after they run your CC. 2 bottles end up going unopened and of course no alcohol leaves the place. One of my buddies lifted one though. All in all $3500 I wish I never spent. Could have had more fun at the strip club or the tables. Hell a hooker would have been cheaper.

Your in your upper 20"s and want to party with strangers???

Has nothing to do with EV(well, in a small way it does, as nightclubs are a ripoff for the most part)............believe me, although I do massive amounts of +ev things, I also do many that are -ev also.

Do you live in Vegas, if so, fine, go to a nightclub.

However, if your on a 10 day or fewer Vegas vacation and spend less than 30 days a year in Vegas, my belief is that you are wasting time going to a nightclub in Vegas...........sure there are many great nightclubs in your hometown OR a city very close by.

Having said that, go to a nightclub, if you totally enjoy your experience at a LV nightclub, by all means keep going.........certainly do not want to come off as telling you what or not to do, as obviously everyone has different tastes and desires. It sounds like you may enjoy a night out like this, have fun buddy.

Flight my advice would be to skip the "nightclub" and go to a "lounge/ultra-lounge". It's more like an upscale bar , the music is set a little lower and still plenty of girls. Also the bottle service is usually more reasonable.

Going to sound OLD SCHOOL and OLD................but..............

I loved living in Vegas in the 80's when there was literally only ONE or TWO "nightclubs for tourists).......with the SHARK CLUB probably being the main one.

It's a shame that beginning in the early 80's, and some would argue much earlier, Vegas main attraction is no longer GAMBLING...........sad.

FH- You do make a good point. I just wanted to try it before I turn 30. I appreciate the thoughts of the elder statesmen.

AMC- Any lounge you would recommend? We're probably going to all the clubs at the Palms so I think Ghostbar qualifies. Anything else I should consider?

I've been trying to stay away from this because of the cash involved but I guess I should do it because I want

    - no line
    - hassle free
    - easy access to booze

So I guess in your experience bottle service was worth it? It's going to be hard to swing for only 2 guys.

Do most, if not all, clubs have security checks for weapons?

What the hell do you expect? If you pay cover ANYWHERE and buy drinks for $15 each, you're gonna spend AT LEAST that much.

I live in Vegas. The only way I go to a club is if I get a table. With only two of you, you'd only need to buy one bottle (probably around $400 depending where you go).

Ghost bar is nice. They also have The Playboy Club which you can access Nove and Moon via escalator.

Monkey, what are the best comp values currently running(including comp promo hours) operating now in various vegas pokerrooms?

I'm guessing TheVenetian has to rank somewhere in the top three.

    Thanks in advance

Spearmint Rhino runs a metal wand scanner on you though. That's really about the only place (and that's a strip club).

    1. Hooters gives a $200 loyalty bonus for 30 hours of play Mon-Fri in addition to $1/hour normal comp.
    2. Aria has double and triple comps (graveyard). $2 and $3 per hour.
    3. TI has double comps on graveyard and a weekly $2500 freeroll tourney for 25 hours of play.

The Venetian has recently been outplayed comp-wise.

Yeah. Over $7/hour. The games are very soft but you're limited to $1/$2 NL. They started the promotion about 2 months ago.

    One last set of questions.....

What is the rake at Hooters and do they drop any money for jackpots?......and can the comps be used for the PETE and SHORTY'S restaurant?

    4+1

    $100 Quads
    $200 Straight Flush
    $500 Royal

Their comps can be used for anything in the casino, including the gift shop, any restaurant, rooms, slot point play, etc. Everything is loaded on your players card which they scan at the registers. They actually have one of the best comp programs in Vegas. Unfortunately, there isn't too much to choose from though.

Back in the 80s where Pure Nightclub is now Casears Palace had the best snack bar ever you could get a cheeseburger for 3.50 or Hot dogs it was great because it was right next to the sports book and you never had to leave for food i would be there from morning till night playing race and sports those burgers were like steak quality beef that was a lot better then a nightclub but of course im 48 and married with 2 kids so im not thinking like a 20 year old i cant remember 20 anyway.
