    Its Shaping Up For A Washington Stanley Cup Championship....

    The last couple of years the Caps have been by far the best
    team in the NHL......how many President's Trophys did they win?

    They tore up the regular season.....winning at will it seemed....

    And they entered the playoffs with high expectation and as a favorite
    to win the Cup....

    But year after year they choked in the early rounds.....

    Disappointment after bitter disappointment....


    But this year is different......they are struggling in the regular season.....big time.....

    No blowout victories.....losing streaks they havent seen in recent times..

    But I got a feeling they entered this season with a different mindset than
    previous years.....

    They know a Presidents Trophy does not guarantee the Stanley Cup...

    So maybe THIS YEAR they are somehow are waiting for the playoffs before
    exhibiting the fireworks.......I know people will say you cant turn it on
    and off...but just watch....you will see a different Cap team in April..

    Different philosophy than in the past...coz they know what they did in the
    past did not work.....


    Should be a good Stanley Cup Final.....

    Washington vs Detroit......

    With Ovie's crew finally hoisting Lord Stanley..........

    i think teams have figured out washington's offense. take the slot away (like bylsma told his team in 24/7) from ovi and he will have a tough time scoring.
    also it seems like every caps players are slumping this year, the odds of all of them "turning it on" for the playoff is not good IMO.

    the caps are not a playoff team. they have many playoff caliber players but their team play is atrocious. No one from the southeast makes it past the first round imo.

    who ever gets Spetza could really change the offense of the team. Boston I think could really benefit from a big time scorer, they have very solid D and great goaltending. Washington is far from a lock form even getting out of the first round (montreal last year).

    They are starting to play more of a playoff type game but still don't see them doing anything in the playoffs, too many games like the one last night where they can't finish off teams

    I agree with the Flyers, but in certain ways its a crap shoot. Philly was a 8 seed last year and rolled through the playoffs. Its about catching fire.

    they might not come close to ovie's crowd, but matching ovie shouldnt be a problem. seriously,is ovechkin even playing? he was on a roll for a bit, but then fell off. the only way washington has a chance is if every other team takes out their top scorers! haha

    It seems that Montreal is way undervalued. Last year went to the Eastern Conference finals as an 8 seed, are a better team this year. Beat both Washington and Pittsburgh in the playoffs. Price is good, but he has no playoff experience. At 25/1 to win the cup they seem to be at a pretty good price.
