Friday 12/31 - Dallas Stars vs. Vancouver Canucks

Jumping on another total tonight after last nights easy win with San Jose and Chicago coasting over late in the second period. Tonight, Vancouver will be without Roberto Luongo as he is away for the birth of his son. Between the pipes is Cory Schneider, who has given up 3+ goals in 4 of his last 5 appearances and will be playing in only his 4 game in the past 3 weeks. There is no substitution for real-time action, and tonight they head into Dallas where the Stars are 12-5-1-2 at home this season, but with only 1 win in their 5 contests on home ice. I think the combination of a rusty Schneider on the road and a desperate Stars team that needs to get back on track tonight at home is a recipe for GOALS.

Vancouver has been really firing at net the last 5 games, averaging 36 SOG and should be able to put up at least that tonight vs. the shaky D of the Stars. We also have a huge PP/PK disparity, and if the Canucks can get the man-advantage tonight, it's likely they'll capitalize, like the have 24% (2nd PP% NHL) against the below-average Dallas PK (80%, 20th PK in NHL)

Vancouver Canucks vs. Dallas Stars OVER 5.5 (-115)
