Genealogist Alexander Bannerman reveals his findings in a forthcoming book about Biden's family.

The West Virginia-based genealogist discussed his findings with journalist and author Ben Schreckinger for his forthcoming book "The Bidens: Inside the First Family's Fifty-Year Rise to Power," an excerpt of which was published in Politico Magazine on Tuesday.

After the 2020 presidential election, Bannerman worked alongside Roberts to put together Biden’s genealogy for the winter 2021 issues of American Ancestors magazine.

Bannerman told Schreckinger that during their research, the pair found that two of Biden’s ancestors on his father’s side enslaved people while living in Maryland.


In an attempt to discredit Biden during the 2020 election, people said he was descended from slave owners.
