    doesn't work for me
    but nothing works for me when it comes to sleep
    How do I combat this ??? I dont
    I just live on 4 hours of sleep every 24 hours for the last decade

    Best thing ever invented. Puts me to sleep in 20 minutes, no drowsiness in the morning. It's seriously changed my life, I went from sleeping 4 hours a night to getting a full 8 hours every night and way more productive. I never realized how bad I was depriving myself by not sleeping.

    I'm prescribed to it. Only use it when I know I have to fall to sleep because it takes hours for me to sleep.

    I tried Ambien once or twice. I didn't care for it. It just made me sleepy.

    IMO, Ambien is no better or no worse than anything else...problem with Ambien is that it works good for the first week or so, but then your mind and body adjust accordingly just like with any other sleep medications and drugs...simply meaning that you will become dependent on it and will have a very hard time falling asleep without it...either that or you will need to double or triple your dosage to acheive the same result and that is not good...old school method still works very effectively...eat healthy, cut out sugars and junk food, drink lots of water, work out, be active, and hit the sack no later than 10:00pm...

    some people (mine included)cant turn off their subconscious mind long enough to fall into a sleep
    I tried Ambien, and like you said it works ... for a short while . Then you are even more dependent before
    because if you think you originally had a problem going to sleep , when you go from on to off that shit it
    really makes it rough . I do work out some and drink water constantly but my circadian rhythm is all fukked up
    Sometimes Melatonin works .. sometimes... potent edibles is something that has been working lately to help
    relax my thoughts in order to sneak into a sleep ... but even then its hard for me to fall deep enough to get
    the important sleep ...the REM(Rapid Eye Movement) so its a constant battle.

    But for most people Manny, you nailed it dead on

    Well it was working great for the first week and a half, but last night I had a hard time sleeping. I think I'm getting tolerant of it, might need to take a weekend break from it

    Been taking it daily for almost 10 years. Can't sleep without it, I try every now and then. With it, I never ever have trouble falling asleep. I'd like to sleep longer sometimes, but I got a solid 6-7 or more. I guess I'm dependent, but no tolerance issues. 5mg is all I ever take or need.

    You sound just like me man. I couldn't get good sleep even when I do fall asleep. I had been going to work on 0 sleep, and trying to be productive. Day in and day out it takes its toll on your body and mind.

    Ambien has has been gold for me so far but I think you absolutely have to take it on an empty stomachs, drink lots of water during the next day to flush system and stop use of it during weekends in order for it to keep working

    Empty stomach -- not a must, but could help. I do sometimes ambien eat a little before bed. Not good. I should stop that. But it still works.

    I can't stop it on weekends, I've tried. Just sucks. Still works for me. But everyone is different. Half of it might be in my mind, but not entirely. I once thought I took it as usual. Couldn't sleep though for like an hour, which never happens. Then I noticed I took the wrong pill.
    Not saying good to hook on ambien, but it can work.
    Oh yeah, also, I always take 30-45 minutes before bed. 30 is best, but then I usually stay up a bit longer.

    Been on it for 2 months now. Probably addicted, but have managed to start cutting each pill in half on nights I'm not as tired. Ambien works 1000% better on an empty stomache. Tonight I went without just trying to see if I can sleep without it, and as you can see by the time of this post that wasn't a good idea. I wanted to give my body a break from it and start again Monday.

    btw, anyone who's prescribed to it-- does your doctor make you come in each month for a visit before issuing you another prescription or is that just my personal doctor or age? They are very strict about it
