First time goin to Atlantic City
I'm super pumped I'm goin to AC for the first time this weekend. Driving from Detroit to AC, oh yeah.
Where should I make sure I go / what to see?
Where should I play poker? What about best spots for table games and sports books?
Best spots to drink?
I know all you junkies know the best spots, I appreciate any tips. Don't know how much serious gambling ill get in, since ill likely be blasted the majority of the visit.
I live in NJ. I was in AC Monday and stayed at Harrah's. Uh I like Caesar's and Tropicana the most. I went to the club inside Tropicana (I forget the name) and was able to hook up with a girl so that could be an option. The beach is alright. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville (by resorts) is a nice place to grab a drink and listen to a live band and is on the boardwalk/attached to Resorts Casino. You can take the Jitney bus for $2.25 to any Casino and there are stops outside the Casinos and nearby blocks. Just tell the guy where you want to go to make sure he's going there (there's a million Jitneys running and some don't go everywhere, you won't wait long) and have your $2.25 ready when you walk in. Pull the handle to stop at any time. Good to get hammered and leave where you are staying without worrying about driving. Uhh, you drink for free at the Casino's, just tip. Expect to pay high prices for drinks at Clubs and high cover charges (I think I paid $20 to get into the one inside Tropicana). Mur-Mur is popular too. All the casinos have nice places to eat inside of them though. AC itself is a shit hole, you'll spend all your time on the boardwalk (since the Casinos are accessible from there, except for Borgata, Harrah's, Golden Nugget, ???). Have fun buddy.
The guy I used to work with always suggested Harrah's to play cards at - for what it's worth. It's outside of the boardwalk but the Jitney will take you there. The Jitney literally is a green short bus that says Jitney and there are signs for it where the stops are. You'll see a million of them.
Also, if you smoke, don't go to Revel Casino. Cannot smoke inside there I believe.

1st and last time you will see showboat, revel, and trump plaza, as they are all closing. Hilton already closed. Taj is a shithole. Caesars and Resorts don't have poker. Only real places to play on boardwalk are Bally's and Trop. Providence at Trop is a decent club, but mur.mur at Borgata is better. In general, like the marina better (Borgata, Harrahs). Better restaurants, better clubs (mur.mur and the pool), better poker, better rooms. Only decent food outside the casinos is Angelo's and Ruths Chris. Shopping consists of outlets and shops @ Caesars. Both kind of suck. In general, AC isn't what it was. Surrounding area has always been a shithole, but now the casinos are going over the cliff too. Btw, don't know if you were serious about sports betting?
You got one thing right, AC is a shithole. Don't go anywhere near the fuk'in Trump casinos, as SC said, they're all closing the service and food is shitty, basically the employees there are gonna be out of job in 2 months, so like they could give a fuk. Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville is pretty cool and the boardwalk is nice for check'in out the Jersey girls and college chicks on vacation. I would be careful though and not get too fuk'ed up as it is an easy placed to get jumped and robbed, especially at night. As others have stated, AC is turned into a major shithole, mainly because of a crooked ass fat fuk'in weasel named Chris Christie who basically extorted and siphoned money from casinos that should have went back into improving the area, and instead went to his and his fuk'in mobster friends and government appointees. I hope that fat bastard chokes on a Nathans hot dog. My best advice, save your money and go to Vegas instead.

There's a BYOB nude strip club on Atlantic Avenue behind Trump Plaza if that's your sort of thing. Don't expect to see any 10's though. More like a bunch of 5's and 6's. Don't bring your cell as they will hold it and it will cost an extra $5. $20 cover but bring your own booze.
Trop has a bunch of clubs in the quarter for people in their 20's. They also have a club called Boogie Nights if you like 80's and 90's music and MILFS. Younger chicks also frequent this club too. There's no cover on Friday's if you have a Trop room key and all drinks are $5. Saturday is $15 cover with expensive drinks. So get drunk on the floor before entering.
If you're into the prostitute thing, the best place find them is in Showboat. But don't expect anything great. The scummier ones walk the streets. You can also find descent ones in Caesars. In fact they are just about in every casino. I wouldn't recommend the street walkers unless you want to get Aids or robbed.

ac still gets packed on summer weekends, but other than that, is dead now...but if they can get sports betting, ac will come right back

All they got to do to save the town and these rotten fuking sports leagues won't let them do it cause they demand a cut. Powerful lobby these fuks are. Revel wouldn't be going anywhere if they had sports wagering.

Providence was the club name I believe as someone mentioned. It was last year on a Saturday. I remember it was crowded. We tried going somewhere else but someone we were with did not meet the dress code but I forget where we were at. You're not going to get robbed or die, especially if you are on the boardwalk.

Good point my family moved from there in the 80s we went back in 2003ish gratiot area left the u-haul outside overnight they stripped that bitch left it on rims took everything. People out here in Cali think watts, Compton, and south central are thee worst hoods in the USA because they don't travel never been to the Midwest ghettos like Gary Indiana or the south. It's a different type of hard times people still have 50k cars at the projects out here. Have fun on your trip.
I live like 30 minutes away from AC, I'm actually going tonight for my cousins birthday. Yes, it is a shithole but just stay at the casinos and you will be fine. You're also from Detroit so I wouldn't worry lmao. Among the casinos the Borgata is by far my favorite, but it is more expensive. You could always just go to the boardwalk and walk to a few casinos and check them out instead of staying at one. I'm sure Trump and Showboat will have decent deals since they are closing soon. gangs, homeless men on bath salts, and guidos on steroids looking for a fight are all things to watch out for...
on the beach watch out for syringes and great white sharks in the ocean.
borgata is the only place in AC i will go to.
