#4833I've made some great money this week so I'm going safe for the final 2 days. Taking both the overs in the mens' matches. If both hit, great. If one does, then I'm only down a little from the 2 plays. If neither do, well that'll kind of suck.

#4835You're right Goat. Nadal retired at the Aus Open so you need to negate that from the head to head. Also, Yezzir's figures are including 2 indoor hard matches which need to be eliminated as they're not relevant.
The actual H2H on hard court is: 3-1 Nadal with Murray's one win coming 2 years ago at the US Open.Comment -

Would you say at least Nadal OR Fed will win their match today...
Thinking of going Nadal in the opener...and if he wins ...take the profit...and leave the
Fed match alone but if he loses.....in the second match...go with Fed to win the lost
bet on Nadal with a little profit attached.....Comment -

Don't chase!Nadal losing does not increase the chances of Federer winning. Believe me, there's no guarantee that either Nadal or Federer will roll today, they're both facing elite competition.
My two cents, if people don't mind: I'm on Murray and Federer. Murray's odds give him about a 43% chance to win here, and I think this is much more of a cointoss. He played calmly and brilliantly yesterday in his demolition of the tired Nalbandian, his serve was excellent and when his serve is on he's a very hard player to beat. Nadal, on the other hand, really struggled against a player many thought he would crush, and in fact he could have easily lost that third set had Kohlshreiber converted his break point opportunity. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I thought I noticed Nadal limping ever-so-slightly towards the end of that match. Murray is in excellent form right now, except for that that 0-6 set to Monfils which was very strange, and I like his chances here at this price.
As for Federer vs Djokovic, I just think Federer seems to have started caring more about these non-grand slams - you could see it in his last match when he played heroically to stave off defeat. I don't think it sits well with him to have Djokovic ahead of him in the rankings, either. Djokovic has been battling the heat and a shoulder injury, and called for his trainer yesterday. I would not take Fed at -160 or -165 at Bookmaker/Bodog, but -140 @5dimes is still appealing to me.Comment -

Well my 'keeping my big plays quiet' experiment now ended with that fluffhead Ivanovic retiring. So they officially went one win, one push. Superstition over.
I have also put some money on Federer -2 -120 although this is more of a fun play than anything. I'm just hoping for a nice close OVER match and I'll be happy. Hope everyone has done well so far today!Comment -

That was a bit too nerve-wracking for my liking. I went from having my head slumped in my hands after the first set, to cheering like a nutter when Djoko first broke him and then won the 2nd, to freaking out when he went down 4-1 in the 3rd (I only needed one more game for my over at that point and was seriously worried about a 6-1 finish) to tearing my hair out that Roger couldn't close him out when he had the chance and worrying about the possibility of a tiebreak because of TB's bets on him.
I dumped too much money on that over. NEVER AGAIN WILL I PUT THAT MUCH ON A TOTAL AGAIN.
But with that, plus Roger -2 and the Pavly/Sharapova over that I tailed EP on, it ended up a very nice day. Just glad it's over.Comment -

#4862Hey guys.
I've been thinking about these matches for awhile and I'm going to skip them both other than a small play on Federer. To me, the mens' match is almost a coin flip at this point and there's no need for me to piss away any of my profits this week on basically a 50/50 chance. As much as I love putting a bet on a great match, I'm here to make money beyond anything else, no matter how much I love tennis, and this isn't a situation I see as worthy of a bet on my part.
As for the women, although I was leaning Kim to win the whole thing as of yesterday, now that she didn't have to play her last match I'm not willing to lay the chalk on her or even play with the handicap without having a chance to see how she would've held up in the semi. So again, no play for me.
I am however putting a bit on Baghdatis at +113 in Cincinnati today along with my Federer bet. Again, both of these are smaller plays. These have been 2 great tournaments for me and I'm looking forward to next week.
Best of luck everyone!!Comment -

#4865Glad to see you're backing Baghdatis. I couldn't resist betting more, even after a very profitable week, but I'm glad I got Murray @-102 when the line first opened and I'm also on the Clijsters -2.5 handicap.Comment
