Gets paid to provide insightful commentary on football matches, guess there is some justice in the world after seeing that WWE entertainer SAS on 10m a year.
    Absolutely deserves it

Maybe they should find better refs and pay them more. What a disaster the SB was.

As long as Romo doesn't have to hold an extra point, he will be fine.

Good for him. Brought a youthful excitement to the booth that was clearly lacking. Be interesting to see who else follows in his footsteps.

He does "sell the game" pretty well.

But that is quite a bit much.

Romo is a great color commentator. Explains the game precisely, has the experience, and the charisma. Very accessible for the common fan, and has respect from the hardcore fans.

In comparison, Booger McFarland is a goddamn train wreck. I’ve literally muted the games to not hear that idiot speak in the past

Best announcer in the league by far. Crazy he was a good football player but his true talent is in the broadcast booth (and he's a good golfer too!)

I realize he is great at what he does in a hugely successful business and deserves every dime they are willing to pay.
(Guaranteed $$$, unlike a players contract)

My question is: How many actual days/year is he going to work? Prep/Research for each week. Yup. Bet they have a department feeding him stats and stories to digest. Does he have to do other spots besides NFL?? His golf game will have plenty of time to improve. Good for Tony.

CBS now laying off hundreds of rank and file workers across their networks, but at least Romo got his money, so they can listen to him on Sunday while out of work.

I didn't understand this contract. Rumor was Romo was going to get $10 to $12 million, which would easily make him the highest paid color guy. So CBS gives him $17M? Why? He was never going to ESPN and walking away from the Super Bowl and best game options, Fox and NBC were not in the running.

So if CBS said "Tony, here's $12M, take it or leave it." He would have walked? No way.

What's he gonna talk about when there is no football due to Corona? Lol..

I do like Tony Homo in the booth but I think Troy Aikman is the better commentator out of the 2.. Troy Aikman should have got the big TV contract not Tony IMO...
