#1227See, this is what I mean about inconsistency across sources. I just double-checked the FOUR sources I use, because I could have sworn this was not an RLM play. Sure enough, ALL FOUR sources had the OPENING LINE as a pick'em! That completely alters things, since based on that, the line moved in an expected way, the opposite of an RLM play.
Has anyone else had any issues with this "free sports bet" site not agreeing w/ what they saw elsewhere? I was excited to discover this thread, but I hate this sort of discrepancy problem, it always seems to mess things up.Comment -

#1229It would be helpful to actually have a site that we knew was more accurate for opening lines as well as bet amounts! That is a huge discrepancy and often changes plays since its essentially the entire system.Comment -

#1230yeah...me & R19 were discussing that game earlier..
I decided to take it & it paid off big time b/c i took them on 1st half ML, game ML, game spread, and 1st half spreadComment -

#1231Also, on a day like today it is easy to start placing positions early. That can be a double edge. I played Boise State and it totally fell out on percentages before game time.
Northern Iowa holds on for the win outright!Comment -

#1232I deleted my earlier post and am keeping track of my plays today for spreads and ML's, including halves & quarters, for CBB, NBA, & NHL....will post at the end of the night (it is a large sample size for those who did not see my earlier post)
the results have been pretty decent for 1st half underdog ML and spread bets...just need to figure out way to filter through so-so plays
For example, my version of system called the following:
Iowa St +1 1st half (opened at +1.5)
Iowa St +100 1st half (opened at +116)
Northern Iowa +.5 1st half (opened at +1)
Northern Iowa +100 1st half (opened at +103)
Wisc-Mil +.5 1st half (opened at +1)
Wisc-Mil +100 1st half (opened at +111)
Detroit +130 1st half (opened at +132)Comment -

#1236There isn't any one site that is entirely accurate. As I just stated... anyone can choose whatever site they want to use for their own purposes. We're using freesports to base the plays on... but nobody has to use it to make their plays. Freesports is for consistency... nothing more.Comment -

#1238I understand the reason for not using a bunch if sites. Consistency is important. It does matter how accurate numbers are though because that's the whole reason for using the system. If freesportsbet is actually accurate enough then that's fine. I don't know how to know that though. That's the only concern.Comment -

#1241The best source for opening lines and line movement is probably Don Best's service or some other paid service. There are services that create charts of line movement as well.
The advantage of using Free Sports is that there is one source to go to. If you just look at their current lines it is even easier. I have been writing out plays and checking multiple sites as back up. I just wish Free Sports showed current lines without having to click on the link. They take up a third of the screen with marketing.
Today's result will come down to late games for me. Not preferred, but we will see when the dust settles.Comment -

#1242No, he's talking about opening lines I think. Of course the percentages will differ everywhere, but are books really opening lines that differently? I didn't think so. Whatever source is used should have basically average/normal/accepted opening lines. That was the only place I saw +2, every other source of opening line showed a pick 'em. But maybe you're saying we can't even get that consistent.
From there... find a site of their choosing to follow betting percentages.
Then... compare those stats to their books lines.
That is why I have chosen the method that I posted in the original thread. If anyone wants to go through that much trouble... more power to them... I know I'm not. And... I'm not going to use 5Dimes or Pinacles or whatever the name of the books line is, because it is never 100% the same as my books lines.
Before anyone thinks I'm irritated... I'm not. What everyone needs to realize is, there is no *Oracle at Delphi* that is going to provide everyone 100% accurate information. This is nothing more than a simple system... that's free... and took the place of the guy who was going to charge his followers to give them his plays as he saw fit.
I think some users have forgotten the reason I created this thread... it was simply to show people that they could do this themselves. This wasn't meant to be anything more than an *I can do this* thread. Anyone and everyone is more than welcome to customize it to suit their needs/purposes.Comment -

#1244I hear you, Night-Tripper, and hope you don't think I was trying to question any of what you do. For my own selfish purposes, I'd have liked it if you had chosen to use one of the links I posted above, which I'd thought were the most common sources people use to get the lines and percentages, having never heard of that free sports bets site. But who the heck am I, so by all means do whatever you want and use whatever you want! It's all good, this is a great thread, guys. Most of the time I'm sure the stuff is the same across sources.Comment -

#1246Not a problem dude... I checked out those sites (and more) when I was first experimenting with this and simply found the site I'm/we're using to be the most user-friendly for me. Had dozer not pulled his stunt, y'all would have never heard of me... and I would have been paddling my own little boat in anonymity.
By the way, regarding your "anyone can do this, this is just to show you how" mission statement, I thought this thread was more of just: "Here it all is so you don't have to go poring through it all." Which is awesome when people just want to go to one source quickly and see what the RLM plays are. Kind of like, hey, here's a service, bitches, give me some fukkin points. And I would happily give points too if I had any.

Nah... never created this thread to get points or notoriety... simply trying to show anyone interested that they could do this without the azz clown.

I, personally, did not play Wright State because the static line on that game didn't appeal to me.
I also played the Nets on the ML as well as +6.5 even though they'd dropped to a 38/62 split.
Played the Bucks on the ML as well as +5 just becasue I liked what I was seeing in betting percentages versus the line.Comment -

So you guys don't do totals? There was nice RLM toward the Under in this Kansas/Mizzou game. I did the 1H under 68.5 and the under 145.5. Looking good so far. Fun game too, I'm on Mizzou for a little.Comment -

#1256Lmao, this under is deader than shit. All I see is two offenses imposing their will and both teams pushing it down the floor.Still a great game though.
So when I see a move of 1.5 points or more, with like 65% or more of the bets the other way, I consider that playable. In this case, It was 70% of the bets on the over, and a two-point move down from 147.5 to 145.5. Regarding number of bets, I would love to see a large figure but I don't let that affect my decision in general.Comment -
