I've got a write-up I am tinkering with for that game. I'm hesitant to go for the over in that one, #1 because the books did not really adjust to the total so they believe it was out of the ordinary and kept the total @ 10.5 just with higher juice. FSU's pitching has been dominant in the Regionals + Supers so far. Mooneyham is what you'd base an over on for this one. He's been bad his last two starts for Stanford, but he's got dominant stuff when he locates his pitches. I don't think I would have the balls to take the under in that one even at 11 for even money, but I would not be surprised if that one featured ten runs or less. Of course there's also the rain factor. They should start on time, but it looks like a delay at some point will be expected and that can throw off the course of an over or under quickly once the bullpens come on.Comment -
Damn it Florida. Hold on to a damn lead. Sheesh. Came back to grab it 6-5 and yacked it back up. 6-6 going into the 9th. Baylor has jumped on top of Arkansas, so good news there for now .... June 10th [Tallahassee Super Regional] Florida State -1.5 [-125]
Should be Compton for FSU and Mooneyham for Stanford. Mooneyham has struggled lately. His ERA stands at 4.26 and he does have dominant stuff at times, but he has been hit hard in successive starts. In the Regionals, Pepperdine got to him for four runs and he got booted in 2.1 IP. His start prior to that against Cal, he was leveled for nine runs in 3.2 IP. His two starts prior to that in conference play, he was brilliant. But, who shows up today against a hot hitting team? Compton has been another consistent Freshman for the Seminoles with a solid 2.78 ERA. FSU's pitching has been sensational in the last two weeks, not allowing more than two runs in each of their last four games since their debacle in the ACC Tournament. While Friday's 17 run outburst is left behind, the Seminoles have to be feeling confident after battering one of the top pitchers in the country and continuing to pile it on the Stanford bullpen. Psychologically, if FSU jumps on Mooneyham - it could be a long night for Stanford. I think the early innings are going to be a large key in this one. If Compton can keep the Stanfors bats quiet, FSU will look to stay patient and pounce again.Comment -

June 10th [Eugen Super Regional] Kent State +175
Oregon starts the freshman, Jeff Reed. Kent State goes with Ryan Bores. I think it's a lot of pressure for a freshman to be in an elimination setting like this. Reed does have plenty of talent with an ERA under 3.00 and he pitched well in the clinching game of the Regionals against Austin Peay, but he needs to provide them with a solid start to keep their emotions up early. Bores has been solid all year for Kent State and pitched a CG win over a talented Purdue team last weekend in the Regional round. Oregon donated plenty of unearned runs last night, uncharacteristic of a slick fielding squad - but they still struggled hitting. They got eleven free passes and had to scratch across runs in the 9th to make it as close as the 7-6 final. Kent State should be riding an emotional high after last night's game saving catch by Campbel. This team has won 21 straight and seems to be still slipping in under the radar. They have proven to be able to consistently scratch out runs with 7 or better in three of their four postseason games and I think the offense makes the difference again. Saying it again so maybe I remember to listen to myself - Stony Brook is dangerous. Don't sleep on them in Omaha. Wish I would have taken a shot at them against LSU for the series. +775 at one time. Have to see what bracket they end up in, but there isn't a team I see in the field that they cannot beat.Comment -
