Why Do Dad's Post Photos Of Kids Holding Guns?

I think when you post photos of your little kids holding guns... it's a little odd.

Yes, you have the right to bear arms... but... No kid should ever touch a gun.

In a way it is kind of good that young kids know the ins and outs of a gun so as to not accidentally ever shoot someone, but then there is that flipside of course that they DO know how to shoot someone.

i realize anyone with an anti gun agenda will believe this but the kid on the left just blew up the SAT's with a 2190 and attends one of the finest schools in the country (maybe the world)
    i raised them right.
and they can hit whatever they aim at.

You think kids shot up schools in the 1800's when the west was won?

It just irks me when a child holds a gun. They don't make adult decisions. Their mindset is listening to their parent. And anyone has a right to raise their kid how they want. I just think about 100 things that could go WRONG by holding one... and I can't think of one thing RIGHT by holding one.

Nothing wrong with teaching your kids the responsible handling and power of a weapon from an early age.

Aside from the two boys in post #4 I see a fun family outing. Would never advise sending 6 or more 10 year olds to the firing line alone and expecting them to be safe but with an adult (who knows their way around a weapon) at their side teaching muzzle awareness and the basics.....it's a good thing to learn.

    not at all ...

you made a comparison that Columbine was because of of kids access to guns.

I simply pointed out the during the Wild West years everyone had access to guns and you didn't have the violence that you have in schools today

Even today...kids can have access to rifles/handguns/ammo and still not go on killing sprees....venture a few miles outside of Chicago and there will be plenty of kids who own .270s, .308s and multiple .22s or .40 cals but they use them to shoot targets and hunt animals. Same goes for New Orleans or Atlanta....its not guns that are the issue it's the assholes who just want to kill or the ones who glorify the weapons and not respect them.

There is nothing wrong with guns, 99.9% of gun owners are responsible upstanding citizens. I use to go hunting with my grandfather in the quebec wilderness all the time near his farm. good times.

This way the news channels don't have to show stock footage, they can actually show the crazy son of a bitch with gun in hand at age 5!
Taken just 10 short years before he killed all those people in the mall!

Because if you post pics of kids and guns you have to make damn sure they are legally registered.

    Criminals don't register guns.

You do realize that the vast majority of the country isn't confined to a metro area so hunting, target shooting and other gun related things take place daily....safely and responsibly don't you?

Doesn't matter if you're talking Oregon, Pennsylvania, Alabama or Michigan....any region in the U.S. even a few miles from D.C. in VA or Maryland....families do this all the time. It's a big world if you ever leave the bubbles of Manhattan or Georgetown and San Fran.
