    Don't overlook Nova

    this isn't a knock on UNC, so don't get your undes all in a bunch.....


    I have seen and heard alot of people in chat, thinking unc ml is free money.... be careful there is a risk.


    this is a very very good nova team that has come to gather to play their best ball here in march.

    If you look at Nova's schedule, they really only lost 1 game that they should have won.... and that Was against Georgetown, who managed to beat alot of great teams for some reason this year.


    otherwise they lost tough games to very good teams

    Louisville by 1
    marquette by 7 in marquette
    Uconn by 6 in uconn
    both of the above games were pre-injury for the team's stars

    also Texas, and Wvu....

    the common theme outside of the 2 point georgetown loss is that ALL the teams were NCAA tourney teams with most being winners in the tourney.

    most impressive to me is they won 2 out of 2 against a tough Pittsburgh team that only lost to 3 other teams all year


    now its not so much that this resume is that impressive.... it is what it is for a final 4 team.



    but the thing we need to remember that this UNC team like all teams is capable of bad games and playing down to their opponents...

    getting handled by BC in unc
    losing to Wake
    losing to Maryland in OT
    losing to FSU-this was without ty lawson


    the point is that yes UNC is the better team, but don't do an all in, thinking it is some sort of lock, this team is capable of shitting the bed.... they should be able to win it all if they play at a high level

    but this group of players has had a number of chokes too...

    chi, i don't think it is a lock, i never use the word lock but when UNC has posted 18 straight double digit wins this season against non ACC schools and not to mention they are now on a 8-1 SU and ATS run in the tournament with all 8 of those wins by double digits. They choked in the final 4 last year, don't expect it to happen tonight. Nova will have no answer for the low post presents of UNC.

    Nova goes stretches on shooting the 3. If they settle for those shots and don't hit they will find themselves having to climb a mountain. This isn't Pitt, UNC will score, score, and then score some more no matter how good you have played defense or you think you can play defense.

    I don't put much value in ATS runs this time of year.... this is a brand new game


    as for the non-acc record... why doesn't the ACC losses and non-double digits count there? why do we throw out the games from the 5th best conference in the nation? why don't those games matter?

    surely you aren't saying that the ACC is better then all the other conferences still are you?

    i'm not even sure UNC played 10 non-conference games against top 100 teams

    like I said, I like UNC in this matchup.... although nova gaurds will give Lawson all he can handle and cunningham has some "presents" down low too.


    the point is.... UNC has lost and gotten whipped by way way way way way inferior competition to Nova....

    that's all

    I know what you are saying Archie, but you don't have to worry UNC will come to play. They have already playing at Ford field already this season, and they were pretty successful the first time, if you remember. Nova better bring the "A+" game, thats all I am going to say.

    I might pass on the game, Nova is pretty good but not in UNC's league. I think the only team that can beat UNC is UCONN

    I like how Nova's D shut down duke's potent offense, holding them to 54 or so....an offense that went for 87 on UNC...

    anything can happen....

    c'mon MSU vs Nova.... me and the 19 other viewers not from those 2 schools would love it..

    heck if the matchup is MSU vs UNC the ratings will be bad... it almost has to be UNC vs Uconn to be a good final.
