Fed broken again to lose the set. Looks like Federer is going down tonight. There was no real fear last night when he lost the 1st set. Ya still felt that he was gonna pull it out. Totally different feel today. When Bellucci puts it all together, he's tough. Federer also looking sloppy out there. Some careless mistakes.

Edit: Fed just broke Bellucci in the 1st game of the 2nd set. Hopefully he can shake the confidence Bellucci had.

Yeah I heard that he had some symptoms of that virus earlier in the week. He played 3 sets last night and didn't seem to have any problems.

I think I am sitting today out. Nothing excites me. Too much basketball to watch as well. Friday though, definitely going with my pre-tournament read: Del Potro +210 over Federer.

That match would worry me. Fed seems to have his number, and I watched all of Delpo & Istomin last night. He struggled with his first serve %...but I suppose he has to beat Fed sometime...

Would have been better if they were playing again today because I think with the virus/consecutive three setters ... Federer would have been very ripe to get KO'ed. Getting a day to rest is big for him.

you should take the handicap +3,5 for delpo, i can easily see this being a match including a tiebreaker and then youre i good shape. ive seen anyway that many of you big dogs wouldve covered the cap but lose straight up, often very close

Any thoughts on the doubles match? Nadal looked out of sorts, Isner just looked fantastic (Querrey has the nice serve), but this is doubles so I don't know how much that translates, if at all. I've never followed double much. Thanks for your advice if you have the time.

Plus money, I'd try Isner-Querrey. They dismantled a pretty good team last round. Lopez is a great doubles player and Nadal is probably under rated as a doubles guy ... but I'd try plus money.

I think these can go at least 1-1. Teixeira against Donskoy who has been below average since he won a Challenger title on dirt. Teixeira has yet to step on clay this season, but made the final in this tournament last year and I think isn't as far behind Donskoy on this surface as the price suggests. Cervantes is against Mathieu who hasn't played on clay since July 2010 and isn't much above a .500 player on the surface. Cervantes plays almost exclusively on dirt, so he's got the match play edge. Talent wise, we'll see but I cannot fathom paying the large price for Mathieu.

Only thing I looked at in Miami is fading Dancevic who won the Dallas Challenger yesterday and is turning around after a long week through qualis there and now going to Miami. He played great tennis in Dallas and beat some very good players, players better than Mello - but there's the potential for a large hangover in this one I think. He was so ecstatic about winning the tournament yesterday that I wonder if he'll be able to get focused right away. Mello hasn't been playing well lately, but he's decent on hard courts and has had success in qualis in Miami numerous times. That and we have to be honest, before the Dallas event, Dancevic hadn't done much at all this season. This one isn't until late this afternoon, so so time to think about it. Not sure I will play it, but ...

Bachinger-Bemelmans is an interesting quali.

I think the line shows what to think about Bachinger right now because he seems like he's lost some confidence maybe trying to play consistently at the ATP level now. You go back to last year and you can see how he ate up a lot of Challenger level competition, but as soon as he worked up to an ATP event - he choked. His season has been pretty disappointing. Bemelmans is much less experienced on this outdoor surface, but his play in Mexico last week showed his improvement just in the first three months of 2012. Repetition seems to be serving him well as he's playing week after week now, making the main draw @ Indian Wells through qualis and then going 3-1 in Mexico last week. I think I may take a flyer on him.

Interesting take on the Bachinger match. He has been disappointing this season - seems to be a habitual "playing to the level of his competition" type of player IIRC. I was thinking about taking Bemelmans as well if he was plus money, but theyre both @-120 right now.

Miami Quali Parlay: Dancevic + Hampton [-112]
Fading Dancevic and his quick turnaround and travel did not work out yesterday as Dancevic simply appears to be in great form right now after winning the Dallas Challenger and dispatching Mello in straights yesterday. He draws Sugita today who is a quality guy, but he struggled a little with Estrella yesterday and has problems against guys who can overpower him. Dancevic is in that mold when his serve is popping. Hampton up agains Minella and in good form on this surface from Indian Wells. She appeared to have no lingering effects from the flu from that tournament and destroyed Minella in the Australian Open in straights. On this surface, she's been the more consistent player at this level.

They seem like mirror images to me. Gritty guys who don't have great games, but will work you to death as far as trying to retrieve balls and extend rallies. Phau was in the semis in Dallas last week. Only thing that bothers me on Russell is that his results this year have been pretty poor. Phau seems like he's been in better form, but consistency of course with both is not big otherwise they'd be in main draws and not toiling in qualis/Challengers. Coin flip really and I don't know which side I think it lands on. Russell does seem to play well here based on his results in Miami, so maybe dog it up?
