#1754Yeah I think I am going to need that one to dig out of an early morning hole. Rufin's been a bit rough early in this match with Jaziri. Hopefully he starts pounding Jaziri's 2nd serve because the guy is getting in less than 40% of his 1st serves.Comment -

#1755I don't agree with Safarova I think Kerber can/will outhit her, plus not impressed with Safarova's start this year. They're close in ranking as well, but i'm not playing that match, just my opinion, good luck! Btw what book do you use for the challenger events usually?Comment -

#1760Dallas Challenger: Baker +165
This is one I marked as a potential upset, so I am sticking to my guns here. Brian Baker opens against Odesnik. Baker is an interesting story. He was once one of the promising up and comers in the US, but fell to injuries that booted him from the game for three years. He was teaching tennis at Belmont University and said he felt healthy enough and wanted to try the game again before he got too old. He did that nicely late in 2011, making a Challenger final in Knoxville. He's had months to rest up and get strong for another go at it and this is the spot he picked. When on, Baker has a solid serve that can produce some easy points. He'll hope for that recipe on this surface. Odesnik is a solid vet and he's out the gate quick with a Challenger title on clay. His record on this indoor surface though is not great at 9-15 and he hasn't played any matches on it since early in 2010. I think if Baker is confident with his serve early, he can pressure Odesnik and have a shot here to continue his comeback story.Comment -

#1761Another interesting thing about this Kerber-Safarova match is how Safarova was left off the Czech Davis Cup team--had she been on it she would have played against Kerber (Kerber won her Davis Cup match against Hradecka not long ago). Also Kerber has a worse record against left handed players, but not sure how valuable this stat is really.
*you can get Safarova now at +odds my book has +110
**kerber has yet to win a match in this event as wellLast edited by apeterlives; 02-07-12, 09:04 AM.Comment -

#1762I think Kerber is the better overall player, but the surface gives Safarova a shot. Then again, I am in donation mode to the books early this morning, so ...

#1772He likely had the 2-0 set betting, but if you bet at bookmaker.eu (and i'm sure some other books have this policy) for tennis the entire match needs to be completed for a tennis bet to be graded, so even if one set is complete any player withdraws your bet becomes a push regardless of the side you're on. This has saved me a few times though! They don't carry any challenger matches/many tennis props unless it's a major usually.
Beefcake did you get in any of those? I won a bit from Keothavong

#1778Adding one more in Dallas ..
Dallas Challenger: Reix -105
Reix v. fellow Frog, Eyserric. Why bet this one? Well, trying this angle. Reix made it through qualis here in Dallas and flashed a decent serve in two of those three matches. Eyserric is a clay courter. He hasn't won on a non-clay surface since a Challenger qualifying win on an indoor hard court in 2009. Seems an odd spot for him to even playing honestly. Neither guy is a flashy talent, but Reix had a good run last year on hard courts in a few events and the confidence of qualifications might make the difference here. Plus, I'd like to go 0-5 today.

#1785Dallas Challenger Chalky Chalk Parklay: Berankis + Sweeting + Querrey [-104]
Normally dislike anything more than two selections in a parlay, but I like all three of these guys - just cannot fathom taking any of them at the larger single prices though. Berankis, I think carries the most risk simply because his season has started very poorly. Still, Eaton is not someone who looks like he will beat he better players on tour on this surface. Berankis' mark on this indoor surface shows his prowess as a young player. He's 41-17 and went 18-8 last season, mostly at Challengers. Sweeting draws Ball who can be tricky when his serve is working. Still, Sweeting is supposed to a breakout type of guy and this is one he needs to get to put some backing behind that thought. He's played well here in the past, even beating Ball a couple years ago. He might start slow, but if he gets his serve going, he should prevail. Querrey vs. Kuznetsov. Quite frankly, if he can't beat Kuznetsov on this surface .. Querrey might consider joining the other girls on the WTA tour. He whipped Kuznetsova on a hard court late last year when he was trying to rebuild his ranking some, so I feel confident he can do the same here.Comment
