#635Guess we know Clijsters is a shoe-in to win tonight. I couldn't pick a winner right now if you let me read tomorrow's newspaper. I'll give Woz some credit right now, but that first set was Li playing like an absolute spaz. Listening to ESPN, you'd think Wozniacki was a puppet master because every ball that Li hit long or wide is because of Wozniacki.

#644AUSTRALIAN OPEN
MEN'S SEMIFINAL DEUCE
I've probably over done it with the talk about the greats in this game turning it up a notch when they smell the finish line, but I still THINK it's appropriate when you're talking about the beginning of the DEUCE, Roger Federer. It was a combination of poor play from Wawrinka and amplified awesomeness from Federer than led to Fed's QF destruction of his good friend. Now, he draws Djokovic who has rolled into the semis. Djokovic has looked very comfortable in dropping just one set. He hasn't had to go through Murderer's Row though. Berdych being the toughest, but a guy he matched up with very well and overwhelmed quickly. Now, it's Federer. Fed is 13-6 vs. Djokovic with two of Djokovic's wins coming at Slams, including last year's US Open. I THINK Federer wants this. You could see how he turned it up against Djokovic following the US Open debacle in beating Djokovic three times at the end of the year. I THINK Federer also is one of the two most relieved players in Melbourne to see Nadal out. The other being Andy Murray. The finish line is there WITHOUT having to go against Rafa. Admittedly, Murray has had his number, but Federer has the experience edge over him in a Slam final setting. I think both Djokovic and Federer play well today, but I THINK Federer shows better when it matters with the US Open performance in the back of his mind to push him. Pair with Andy Murray. Look, David Ferrer has had a great run here. He's a great player, but hard courts are still not his best surface. He'll challenge Murray to play very well on Friday, but Murray has looked very solid here and he's seen a variety of different games. If you look at Ferrer on this surface, he's got great numbers this year but they have come at the expense of decent, but not great competition like Murray. Ferrer's numbers vs. Top 10 players is also not very good at 28-54. Murray has been stellar on this surface with a 28-7 mark over the last year. He also has to smell what's ahead of him. No Nadal, huge bonus for Murray and he has to take advantage of that in this situation. Murray needs to get his 1st serve in close to or above 60% I THINK today as Ferrer will look to feast on his 2nd serve. If he can do that and take hold of the match early and not give Ferrer an opening, I THINK Murray makes his second straight Final in Melbourne. Parlay at -112.

#6471.27.11 CHALLENGER PARLAY: KAMKE + BERRER [-117]
Both Germans in action at the German Challenger in Heilbronn. Kamke has looked solid early this season. The wins have not shown on the ATP level, but he played Kohlschreiber to a hard fought, five set loss at the Australian Open and also took a set off David Ferrer in Auckland. He won his opener here in routine fashion over a qualifier. He might not quite be at his best yet on this indoor surface, but he has a nice scalp over Berdych in the past year and he made the QFs here last year. He draws Bozoljac. The hard serving Serb was his inconsistent best in his 1st rounder as he worked back from a set down to beat Bohli. He had 10 aces, but 13 double faults - a problem that has plagued him routinely in his career. He hasn't done much on this surface in his career. I THINK Bozoljac's inconsistencies will plague him and allow Kamke to work through. Berrer simply loves this tournament. He won the tournament last season and made the semis the year prior to that. He won easily in his open, flashing a solid serve. He draws Janowicz who powered through the 1st round with 12 aces in his straight sets win. Janowicz showed some ability on this surface, winning a Challenger late last year, so he is dangerous. However, Berrer has shown better ability on this indoor surface and has the experience edge. Parlay at -117.

#649Time for me to take a break. Lost another one today. Kamke screwed the f-ing pooch. Up 3-0 in the 1st, he loses the set. Wins the 2nd and then Fs the 3rd. Be back next week when the ATP-WTA stuff returns. Challenger I was right before, I shouldn't touch it for at least another month. Dumb ass = me.Comment -

#651Tough to call. Surface favors Murray quite a bit, but Ferrer is playing pretty solid tennis. I think he can take a set, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see Murray win in straights because Ferrer's serve isn't very strong. I'd probably go for the over 3.5 sets before I'd touch the O/U on # of games. Probably be some lopsided sets so even in 4 sets, you might not get over 38 or 38.5Comment -

#652For anyone who needs fade material tonight, I THINK I like the favorites in the Women's Doubles final. Dulko-Pennetta. They have played more consistently through the course of this tournament and have better big match experience. Neither team has won a Slam, so one of these teams is gonna bust their cherry. Azarenka-Kirilenko are solid, but I THINK they'll have some service yips tonight and Dulko-Pennetta will do what some of the other teams haven't .... take advantage.Comment -

#658Head up Eagles - you´ll be on a winning streak again in no time. Also had some coin on the doubles final - Aza can´t serve... can´t volley, and those were some tasty odds for the no.1 pairing in the world. They did it the hard way in the end but jeeez I really needed a win here after pissing away a lot of my profits the last two days.
Best of luck for the Murray game, I ended up taking him on the -5,5 handicap. Very nervous...Comment -

#659Well jeeze, two good ideas in a row? Must be hormonal. Murray-Djokovic should be a quality final, I hope. This tournament needs a great final to make up for some so-so tennis. I think Clijsters is going to win against Li. Very difficult to win your first Slam final against someone who has been in this position so many times. Also think the fact that Li beat her a few weeks ago gives Clijsters the motivation if she needs it, I don't think she really does. Don't much like any of the prices for that match though. I think the price on Li will drop as people start looking at this match more. Public will see Li having beat her earlier this year and like the dog price.
Challenger plays today that I like, so they should lose:
Berrer -230/Acasuso -300 parlay
El Amrani -140

#660Don't laugh. Tonight if you're itching for action. Boys Juniors Finals. Aussie Saville vs. the #1 Juniors player Vesely. Saville is available at +170. Not simply taking him because it's a "home" situation, but he's beaten this kid before albeit in 2009, but it was on a similar surface and it was straight forward 6-4, 6-2 so he knows how to play the lefty. Saville has also taken out the #2 seed in this tournament and survived a match point in the 3rd round I believe. Other kid has been on cruise control I think for the most part, but neither has won shit at this point, so why pay -230 for the supposed #1 guy?
Fade me and profit.
Although I think one of those Challenger plays - El Amrani hit. Sweeting, don't know. Parlay was shot.Comment -

#662LOL Eagles.
I´m undecided about the final - should be a close game, and given Murray´s recent winning hard court record i´m swinging his way at a decent dog price. Now that I see you´re leaning the same way though... gonna have to think twice ; )
GL for the game, and thanks for all your write-ups and advice during the AO. Hopefully you´ll still be around for the upcoming tourneys?Comment -

#6631.29.11 HONOLULU CHALLENGER: JESSE WITTEN [-115]
Stupid is as stupid does sir. Witten vs. Kuznetsov. Pretty even on paper, books giving Kuznetsov a little edge probably based on a bit more match-play in 2011. Witten has fought through three rounds here and holds a 3-1 edge in the head-2-head, all coming at hard court Challengers. They've all been close fought matches, three setters except for Kuznetsov's one win. Both had wins against Challenger vets yesterday, Witten over Kendrick and Kuznetsov over Reynolds. He who gets that 1st serve in best, should prevail. Starts in about 10 minutes.
I will definitely be around. Going to jump back in today with some Challenger stuff. Going to power through the shit streak and either continue to suck and give you guys fade material or turn it around.
