Istomin blows a 5-2 tie break lead in the 2nd. Guy is one of the top 5 most inconsistent players on tour right now IMO.

U.S. OPEN SATURDAY PICKS
SCHNYDER [+225] It's the veteran Swiss against Wickmayer. Wickmayer was not overly impressive in her last match, blowing big leads before putting away Georges 6-4, 7-5. Her summer on hard courts has been uneven with one nice run in Cincinnati to the QFS and then a 1-3 mark, including two first round losses in three other tournaments. Paticularly troubling was a 6-3, 6-1 loss to Bacsinszky in New Haven last week. When Wickmayer struggles, it is her serve that fails with both 1st and 2nd serves not winning points. For Schnyder, her summer has been brief with just a few matches in Montreal serving as a tune-up. She played very well in losing to Wozniacki 7-5, 7-5 there. Schnyder has used a solid 1st serve this week to move past her opponents. This one likely comes down to who gets their 1st serve in more. Siding with the upset.
ANDERSON [+200] Anderson draws Gasquet. The South African held on for a five set win last round against Bellucci. It was an impressive rally from down 2-1. As usual, Anderson's huge serve will be on display here as his primary weapon. Gasquet lost to both the big serving Stakhovsky and Fish this summer, so he could have issues with the big stick Kevin Anderson today. Gasquet has been very solid on his own serve, so you can expect this one to feature some very tight sets. Anderson should have some good confidence from winning a 5th set tie break, knowing he can get it done when the match is on the line. So long as he pumps his 1st serve in for cheap points, Anderson will offer a shot here against Gasquet who seems a bit over priced here.
Looking to hit at least 1 of 2 here and a nice profit.
I'm probably going to take Schnyder too I have her beating Wiki in my bracket.
I don't know if you watched Gasquet play EP. I watch him against Davy. Wow is all I have to say. My boy is finally back. I've been waiting for this for 2 years.
Best of Luck!!

JANKOVIC-KANEPI OVER 21.5 [-118] Jankovic has been playing her typical uneven tennis in this tournament and that has resulted in a pair of three set, gut wrenching matches. Both these girls have served like absolute jokes at times. I'm expecting lots of breaks in this one and it could very well be another three set affair. Kanepi has beaten Jankovic on a hard court once and at the French Open this year they played a topsy-turvy three setter.Think this will have a shot.

The only total I liked in the early matches!
Not even going to bother trying to pick a winner in that one but I'd give the over a 90% chance of hitting unless one of them suddenly is possessed by a ghost of great servers past.

Hopefully it's Jankovic's turn to dominate in the 2nd set or this is busted. Her serve #s from that first set were an absolute joke.
Monfils-Tipsy is a total toss-up. It'll be on the racket of whomever is most consistent today. Neither has a good track record of that. Wanted to take the over in that one, but set at 40.5 it was way too high even though the possibility of 5 sets could mean an easy cash.

Jankovic chokes serving for the set and we go to a tie break at 21 games. Jankovic not grabbing her last service game in the 1st set is gonna be a killer here me thinks.

Yep. She's getting crushed in the TB. That sucked. B-yotch gave me some false hope when she went up 6-5. Oh well. Next.
Not sure how in-depth I will be posting here the next week as I am headed to New York on Sunday and going to stay near the airport this evening. I'll probably just be posting picks with no write-ups if I have the time throughout the week as I don't know what my computer access situation is. Got the old iPod Touch with me, so if I can find some wiFi hot spots I will be able to post some short picks. Won't be back full-time till next Sunday. Good luck to you this coming week!
KUZNETSOVA-KIRILENKO OVER 20.5 [-125] Always willing to try the over when it's Russian vs. Russian and three out of their four career meetings have gone the distance. That includes both on clay this year where it was the usual roller coaster ride from set to set. Kirilenko won both and Kuznetsova won the two previou ones on hard court. 7 of Kuznetsova's 9 match-ups with her fellow Russianettes in 2010 have gone 3 sets with 8 of those surpassing this total on the over side. Kirilenko has gone to 3 sets in 6 of the 8 matches vs. Russianettes this season. This total could certainly be achieved in two sets as well, so I dig on it.

I should be able to post Monday night when the action is complete hopefully about which matches I am going to see on Tuesday. I am hoping very much to get to see one of the Russians play on the ladies side so I can binocular watch for the Mob.
Looks like the Big Stick is a Big Stiff today against Dicky Gasquet. Will need Schnyder to get me some money back then with a win!

Since I probably will not be posting later tonight, brief thoughts tomorrow. US OPEN SUNDAY POSSIBILITIES
STAKHOVSKY [-109]: I love the way he has battled here this week and he's in the best form of his life. Draws Feliciano Lopez who can serve with the best of them, but he was on the ropes against the 21-year old French qualifier yesterday. If Stakhovsky can get off to a better start [not falling behind 2 sets to 1], I think he has a shot.
NALBANDIAN-VERDASCO OVER: Obviously not sure on the # of games since there are no lines, but I actually think Verdasco stands a chance here and this will be competitive. It's probably going to be in the 39-40 range I would bet based on today's totals. If it's under 40, I like it.
LLODRA-VENUS PARLAY [-104]: Venus has owned Peer and is playing solid tennis here. Peer certainly stepped up her game yesterday, but I think is Venus' to lose. Llodra the same vs. Robredo. Robredo has had a tough time with big servers on this surface in 2010. If Llodra serves well and isn't fixing this match, he has all the game to win.

Well Anderson broke back against Gasquet. Still a chance in the 2nd, but his 2nd serve is attrocious, 23% winners on it. Needs to get that 1st serve percentage up over 70 if that's the case. Needs this 2nd set, can't see him rallying from down 0-2 against someone with Gasquet's ability.
