Eagles, you now Ive noticed something just in glancing at the past results for alot of these challengers, seeding alot of times means nothing, upsets abound in situations where home country fringe players get in the tourney either as wildcards or qualies, then knock off 100 + ranked players that are seeded.

I don't do Jeremy Chardy matches. Guy is inconsistent and unpredictable. Just when you think he is "on" - he goes to shit. Just when you think he is shit, he turns it on. I definitely would not lay -200 on him at this point even though he is a much better player I think. He just has not shown a damn thing this season mostly.

CHALLENGER PARLAY: UNGUR + BERANKIS [-115] Ungur is on clay in Italy against the Croat, Mektic. Ungur has strung together a nice run of results on the clay Challenger level with six straight trips to the QFs or better. Mektic has been off for over a month and had his best results on clay at that time with a QF appearance at a Polish clay Challenger. Prior to that though, he was only 1-3 on dirt and had not played much tennis period in 2010. Going with the player in better form who has proven consistency over the past few months on this level. Berankis is a talented young Lithuanian who won a grass Challenger this summer and generally is a usefull all-court player. He made the QF of the San Jose ATP event this Spring, showing he can play well on the harder surfaces. He also made the QFs and SFs of two hard court Challengers earlier this year. His opponent, American Michael Yani, has not won a hard court match since February, a string of 7 straight losses. Yani was beaten rather routinely at the Aptos event last week by Simon Stadler.

Becker & Russell is tough to call as well. Becker SHOULD have really good results on hard surfaces with his serve, but it just has not translated for him consistently. Russell is 3-1 against him but hasn't been that good in 2010. One good thing is that if Russell is healthy, he usually fights hard. Over might be a better opportunity than a side because although Becker should win out on talent, I would not be surprised to see Russell win either.

Becker had an elbow problem that caused him to miss Newport, always a question whether it's OK. He also completely slacked off after WImbledon last year, lost to everyone in sight. Too risky for me.

They had Twitter updates off the Lexington website. He's getting pummeled in the 2nd. Lost the 1st, 6-4 and down 4-1 according to the update. Too bad because Ungur is rolling. Another glorious start to the week. F me.
RAM +133 Ram Jam! That's the only reason I am taking this, just so I can yell Ram Jam! after his winners. But seriously, Ram has been a mess this season and generally fails on hard courts with a 6-10 mark on the surface this year. He got crushed 6-1, 6-1 by a player ranked in the 200s last week at Aptos. So why the hell would you touch the Ram-man? I say because of the questionable status of Karol Beck. Beck pulled out of the Aptos event with shoulder soreness after playing through qualis and an opening round win. Beck had a couple good runs way early in the year at Challenger hard court events, but health has been an issue. I'm calling this one. Beck wins the 1st set and quits. Ram wins by retirement and acts like he's just won a Grand Slam event. Ram Jam!

This Lexington stuff is making me sick. Berankis worked back from a 5-2 hole against Yani in the second to where I think it was on serve with Yani up 6-5. That is the last update from a while ago. Was hoping that meant he got it to a tie break, but no updates on the Twitter BS for that event on this match. Anyone got relatives in Lexington?

Well according to Berankis' Facebook fanpage, he won today 6-4, 7-5. So the Twitter updates were f-ed? Seems the Facebook is legit. We'll see if the parlay is cashed ... would be a nice turnaround since I was under the impression he was getting spanked!

So funny a person has to go to those lengths to get a damn score. It'd be nice if they sorted this mess out.

Damn right. I don't understand how any of these Challengers don't have scoreboards. Should be required. I'm going to play this other one just because I cannot believe any player is worth -1000 at the Challenger level. Would not advise those with common sense to follow.
QUIGLEY +530 Quigley is a young American player who played at the University of Kentucky which is coincidentally the site of the Lexington Challenger. Quigley is just starting out, having barely played a couple Challenger matches. He did win his first though IN Lexington last year. Bogomolov is his opponent. He is just 3-7 in his last 10 matches and his hard court numbers this year are pedestrian at 11-11 which includes qualis, Challengers, etc. At 27, he usually crushes the young bucks ranked low ... but come on, -1000. Probably a small waste of money, but I'll pay to see a -1000 Challenger player win.

It'd be a weak ass move for Beck to retire at this point. You chugged through most of the match, might as well play it out. Just let the RAM JAMs flow on serve and then toss four into the net.

Ram is making this much harder than it should be. Best take care of business in the tiebreak, I don't like having to deal with third sets.

TUESDAY
PARLAY: FERRERO + SEPPI [-132] Ferrero draws Hajek for his 1st match at Hamburg. Hajek had to work harder than expected against an inferior Andreas Beck. He's been mostly a mixed results guy on dirt this year and JCF at his best should provide too consistent a competitor. JCF may have just been working into form in Stuttgart last week after a mostly so-so Spring. I think JCF gets it done. Seppi draws Robert who is absolute garbage on dirt. He is just 2-7 in main draws on the ATP level this season. Seppi hasn't enjoyed the best results on clay in 2010, but he did look pretty solid in Bastad last week. He nearly shocked Soderling and his game should be good enough to get by Robert. Seppi likes to let his opponents make the mistakes by putting the ball back into play and Robert should be a willing foe.
