#458BitPay not even answering their phones now to ACH. I had to call my bank and pull from BitPay bank/routing number. Not a total disaster, but I’d rather have cash than be forced to purchase items. I mainly used BitPay for ATM transactions.Comment -

#459I will say, I like the ACH method a lot more than ATM. Much higher daily limit for the same $5 fee. You also won’t get hit with a second fee from the bank ATM you’re using, which can happen if you’re not careful.Comment -

#460I used my bitpay card several times like 6 months ago, worked great especially with ATM with no surcharge and could do $740, 4 times in a row for only $8 total atm fees.
Just had 3k send to my card yesterday and of course was in for big surprise when atm declined. I did the walmart MO thing last night for about $1000 with no issue but its too much a pain waiting 24 hours to go back and its not close, etc.
When I do go back, what goes in the purchaser field since I would be cashing it? My name and address and then sign back? or best to just leave blank when going back to WM?
Also I just read a couple of possibles, send to google wallet and then to your bank with no fees and also Venmo and then to bank with no fees. I don't know much about either and they were talking about **** gift cards but should be the same. Has anyone tried these methods?Comment -

Let us know how turning in that MO back to WM after 24 hours works for you??? Yes, WM claims you can do this with no problems. I'd like to see how easy it will be for you? They might play 21 questions with you. I haven't tried it myself.... and I typically try everything. I'm guessing by the time you talk to the first customer associate.... and by the time the manager gets involved... you're at the 20 minute mark.... and that doesn't include the time waiting in line.
What blows my mind is that there is a grocery store near me that will do $1,000 MO's (WITHOUT THE CARD)... with no LIMIT. CASH ONLY. It's a W...U... processor... and the manager is so cool... he's like... I don't give a damn if you purchase $5,000 worth of MO's from me... there's no ID policy here. So... why the fuk does WM ID for $1,000??? And the Grocery store doesn't care??? Unreal sh#$.Comment -

I always put in my wifes name or family members as purchaser...never an issue cashing at Walmart but most tine i just deposit or cash at my bank....most guys here are so affixed w atm withdrawal i don't understand why...use the card like moneyshot does i use it every day for bills food bars purchases ect....the card is great even w no cashback...u can transfer out via ach plus tie it into bluebird card too for instant cash if needed ..Comment -

#463Great post Ron. Sometimes the MO deal with WM isn't for everyone. You have to utilize your card the most convenient way possible. When it comes to ID'ing more at WM and cutting limits... MO's aren't for me anymore... I just swipe and pay bills using the card.

#464What is the max ACH amount with a $5 fee? The bank doesn't charge also right?
Paying bills with it sucks, as I have a CC I get 2% cash back on, so every $1000 worth of bills I am losing $20.Comment -

For everyday stuff use bitpay DC
For larger cash deposits use a BTC Exchange already setup with your bankingComment -

I used to have a system down pat grabbing 2k worth of MO's from WM. System gets shot down rather easily when they limit you WITH ID.
What someone needs to do... is try grabbing a MO for like $980 or $985 or $990? What's the limit WITHOUT THE ID? The lady at Walmart looked at me funny when I said this. She goes I still need your ID. I said why??? You just said it's 1k or higher. I'm requesting $990. She goes... I still need to see your ID. (DIDN'T MAKE SENSE.) So, has anyone tried a lower amount??? Once we figure out the low WITHOUT THE ID... then that's the first step. You don't want M G knowing your history... they'd be the first company to rat you out.
Also, the one WM I go to is super popular at the Money Center. I mean... they get more business than National Banks. So, you have to plan your sh#$ out every time you go. Never go on Thursdays or Fridays. Fukk no. Mondays and Tuesdays are your best bets. And try to get there when they first open like 9AM... majority of the HOOD RATS are still sleeping.
So, your time is important on the trade off too. If you're spending more than an hour by the time you get into your car... go to WM... wait in line.... transaction completed.... drive home... and it's approaching 1 hour. It's not worth the $20.00 anymore.Comment -

#471980 at WM with no ID, I will try today to cash it. Doesn't WM already know who you are after using a debit card with your name on it to buy a MO? Doesn't the system log all that info?
I am a sports bettor and I file taxes for that, so if there is an easy and cheap way to get the money back to my bank then I will do that.
That being said, I still don't want to do anything weird that would get me flagged.Comment -

I was just going to say... if you happen to go to WM here and there... you could pick up the $980 ever so often.... and then mail 2 or 3 MO's of the $980 to your CC company. That would work... but again... you have to factor in your time. That would be up to you. (There are times I've had an over 2k credit on my CC Card... knowing I would swipe swipe swipe... and still earn 2% bonuses etc.) So you don't necessarily need a balance on your CC... you can always throw money in your acct anytime.
Furthermore, if you have no issues with traces... I would take the MO and cash it at my bank. Yes, they do look at you funny having a MO etc... because every teller fears a counterfeit MO. My bank knows me very well... good to have a branch manager who waives all those ridiculous holds for 5 business days on MO deposits. But, if you don't have those connections... they could place a hold on it. Just giving you the heads up. I've been through it. Just trying to pass the advice to you. Good luck.Comment -

#473I can't believe people are buying money orders. So many quicker and easier ways to get cash from bitcoin. I had a *********** a few years ago and could not cash the thing anywhere. It was a ** m.o and ** wouldn't even cash the fuking thing. Even those Arab check cashing places in the hood wouldn't touch it. Finally I had to deposit it to a bank account and wait 15 days to clear the dam thing. Never again.Comment -

#474Great news, Just got back from WM and not only was it easy to cash, I got the full amount back, no $4 fee!
Because I didn't fill it out at all or sign it is why, I also provided the receipt, I don't know if that was necessary.
Hopefully that is the way it is always and I didn't just get lucky.Comment -

I personally use ACH to pull from BitPay to my WellsFargo account. Takes 1-2 business days to complete. They allow up to $3,000 per ACH transaction and only charge a $5 fee.Last edited by DontTailMe; 06-21-19, 06:19 PM.Comment -

#478You mean in the transfer section, click add non wells fargo bank right? and the put the routing and account number(not number on card). And then send from bitpay to WF?
I was on the phone with WF and specifically asked if i could do that and that said to verify they would send 2 tiny deposits to the other bank. Do they do this and does the bitpay card accept this? If so then once its verified you can do the transfers?
Who allows 3k for $5. On Bitpay website it shows 25k max of the card for only $5?Comment -

#479"You can initiate an ACH debit by providing the account and routing number of your BitPay Card account to the service that will be making the debit. In most cases, you can complete this process on an online or paper form."
"Make payments using your 16-digit Card number ratherthan the Bank’s routing number and your 13-digit accountnumber"
These 2 statements from bitpay contradict each other. What do you set up on the WF side. the 16 digit account number on your card and the routing number of bitpay, or your 13 digit account number and the routing number?Comment -

#484That's great if it works for you, but ACH is by far the best option for me. I don't have any stores around me which will accept debit card for MOs, and I can do the ACH from the comfort of my couch. Besides, I'm never so hard up for cash that I can't wait 2 days for a transfer from my gambling winnings.Comment -
