Tipico Sportsbook won't take Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings bets because....

One of the owners has a stake in both of those teams. Is that the dumbest crap you've ever heard???

They don't even post it on the website.

If you looked at their prop lines, you'd know that's not the case.

Sounds reasonable to me. Avoid Conflict of Interest theory.

If they didn't do that, someone would be posting here accusing them of rigging things because of the conflict of interest. Literally cannot win on stuff like that

Same as it was at Palms sportsbook. Owners were also Sacramento Kings owners, couldn't post Kings lines

Caesar’s was the same for Celtics games for the same reason. Not sure if this is still the case

Owners probably under same contract rules as players as far as wagering on their own team

How? If they favored a line on their team, you knew what was up and could bet it elsewhere.

I remember there was a rule in the NHL that an owner isn't allowed to own any percentage of a casino.... I think Mrs. Ilitch was on a casino in Detroit... somehow they rigged it so she was off the Red Wings.
