He was hired because he knows Recruiting in the state of Florida.

Maybe the Gators can get him to be their recruiting coordinator now.

also, how can i enter this as a gif?
seems he would have hit his shoulder until qb lowered his head I wouldnt call that targeting although Ive seen the same thing erroneously called before where guy was gonna hit the body of a player until the player lowered his head

Are there any prop bets out there on who the next coach will be? I've got a pretty good angle on who that is.

bro this is college football the dropoff is much different matt moore has been a pro for 13 yrs and the chiefs have a good team and playmakers same with bama that backup for oregon sucked. those lines in dlow's system are just bad Id fade them too go back and look at the lines for some reason the black coaches have been getting bad lines, fsu -3 against canes? opened at -5 I think, easy fade. Im saying I dont think we really know if taggart was a good hire or not he wasnt given long enough normally when a coach takes over people always talk about him having a chance to recruit and bring in his players but from day one it was fire taggart literally after the first game against samford and from then on. all Ive seen since a couple of weeks ago on braska boards is wait till frost gets his players and about how the team sucks and the players arnt playing with enough fire u just dont see criticism of the coach big difference in the way things are discussed

You right it different, College is much easier to win games with a lessor qb!!

I dunno how he is recruiting or if players like him but he a awful fukkin in game coach, his teams typically way worse after halftime. That coaching!!!

scorewise it seems that way Im sure the fsu fans here will tell u that for the past several years fsu plays to level of competition I have a good friend that has been saying that for years and it drives him crazy but it was kind of the opposite where they would go through the motions for the 1st half and then start to turn it on more in the 2nd half

They were worse after halftime because they ran a lot of no huddle, hurry up offense and often had horrible time of possession. So FSUs defense was completely gassed in the 2nd half. That is coaching but I'm not sure he ran the offense?

What I do know is that they are a very young team. Whoever takes over for them will have a great up and coming squad. It is a raw deal that it seems black coaches get let go a lot quicker than white coaches (unless you're Marvin Lewis). Like previously mentioned, compare Taggert and Frost and there's two different narratives, while they both suck. Those black coaches usually don't ever get another high profile gig, while guys like Charlie Weiss or a Will Muschamp fail forward.

Let me rephrase that. Leach's act won't work with FSU's losing culture. They would run him out on a rail too.

Why is everyone trying to hide the truth in here. He was fired because he IS a terrible HC and he IS Black. Florida State tried to make a statement, just like the two Arizona Schools in the Pac 12 are. The Alumni run things at high profile schools, and the alumni did NOT want a black Head Coach. The fact that he did not know his tail from a hole in the ground did not help him. Taggart is gone. Sumlin will be next. He single handedly took the best QB in the Pac 12 and ruined him. Arizona ends up 4-8.

unde, I've watched FSU play a few times under Taggert. I can't tell that they have any or many top recruits. They get manhandled first then they self destruct. Not the qualities nor traits of top recruits.

Fourteen consecutive seasons of 10 wins or more.
Fourteen consecutive top-five finishes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll.
    Two national championships.
    Nine consecutive conference titles.

Over the course of 14 seasons from 1987 to 2000, the Seminoles had a 152-19-1 record, winning 88 percent of their games. FSU won national championships in 1993 and 1999 and finished No. 2 twice and No. 3 five times.

It is really sad that this country has turned so many hirings/firings into this inequality black/ white issue when most of the time it is not.

This one is 100% a " green " issue- meaning money. Big elite schools like FSU cannot financially have 30,000 empty seats because their football team and coach stinks. They cannot afford to keep him despite paying him 17 million for a buyout. They have lost so much revenue under Taggert that their athletic department is struggling to pay for the non revenue sports.

Pay whatever it takes to get Urban Meyer and FSU will be a playoff team every season in a weak ACC.

    must be nice

Florida State will end up paying 3 buyouts, totaling over $20 million, to fire Willie Taggart

of course i dont' think texas a and m is too thrilled paying jimbo fisher fully guaranteed 10 years 75 million dollars for what he is doing

Looks like targeting to me. Not wrapping up is typically a giveaway.

Funny, I was just trying to find that crazy hit on Rix that didn't even draw a flag in that game FSU lost 41-9 to UNC in '01.

Seeing Willie T. get fired on Sunday ruined the fun of the W on Saturday. Needed that bum there for a few more years. He is a recruiter. Not a head football coach of a top flight program.

He is a horrible coach and preparer

TWICE Saturday they had 10 guys on field for punts.

    Inexcusable.

You have to beat FL or MIA to keep the gig, he can't even get 11 guys on the field....

Miami has been irrelevant much longer than FSU....one garbage team beat a worse garbage team on Saturday.....don’t get it twisted

I didn't know much about him or the drama or anything because, as an adult, who has time?

I saw a little piece on ESPN about him being from FSU and saw the interview, and I literally said this guy is a complete idiot.

You can just tell by some people looking them in the eyes and how they speak that they are stupid as penetrate.

No idea how he gets hired the anything.

It's like watching jJameis Winston speak, with his crossed eyes and shit, you just know he's an idiot

    a few things,

FWIW, taggert was thought to have done an awesome job in his one year at Oregon. surprises me some, but that's the opinion (or was the opinion. we might deal with revisionist history now)........

interesting idea on taggert being a small college coach.......... like an underdog coach. has great schemes for lesser talent that is a bit outmatched. but not good with superior talent. and if you have wrong schemes for personnel, the whole thing can be really bad as the players lose interest.

looking at florida high school recruiting the last few years is really scary. FSU, UF and M-F don't get that high a % of top 20 HS recruits. alot of teams in there now (clemson esp.). moderately more in-state competition as mentioned............ hasn't 2nd tier florida talent (mid-weak 3 stars) been going to maryland, kentucky, west virginia, tennessee etc. etc. for years. or just more and more teams now ...... seems like cali, florida and texas supply many of the CFB teams in their general region. SEC teams have the benefit of their own in-state black talent. often not massive numbers but good quality.......... seems like TV means you can play anywhere now
