I guess the question that bother us, non-americans is: In the next month shall we be able to buy freeplays from BetJamaica, Sportbet, etc., or they will be discontinued for everyone? (too much for "business as usual")

We need the answer quickly, so to decide the action course. If they will be discontinued for everyone we may prefer to cash out now; if they will be available for us, there is no hurry and we may better wait for the new extra offers (Pinny!) to decide. I asked this yesterday, but no answer

Prob is cookie monster I dont think they have a crystal ball

They basically need to graft in geocoding logic into the store like the OpenX software gives them for banner control ...

i guess that maybe we americans should also not deposit real cash into any sportsbook since sbr thinks using our points would be dangerous

Chachi is right cookie. I think your best bet is to take the conservative approach and assume the worst.

saint - are you really that thick? SBR should not do anything which in any way puts itself at risk of seizure, legal action, etc ...

If you want to bitch, ring your congressman and representatives, SBR is only being forced to play by the rules the Fed has laid out ...

Thanks for your answers. I asked the question assuming it is only and SBR decision to suspend offering these freeplays, as the sportsbooks are still willing to accept deposits. However, looks like there is more.

On one side they have to be sure of the legal side. If there is even an small risk of non-US players causing a problem for buying freeplays, SBR may decide to cut off us too.

Even if they see no problem, they would have to tune the SBR store, assuring no US players will go through the cracks. And that may take time. Or they may cancel any US-facing book, and offer only freeplays at Pinny, Bet365, etc.

I just chatted with Sam, and he said everything is on hold until they work out all the details. He said that non-US players should not be too concerned, but of course there is nothing sure.

Really though decision, as non-americans have little value for the points besides freeplays. We cannot order pizza On the other hand, buying many freeplays at the same time is a rollover nightmare. So, I think I will cash out some of my points and keep the rest. I hope I do not end regretting it.

sbr is not an american financial institution so they can dish out cash & freeplays to win free cash just like centsports and freesportsbet gives you free bets to win free cash because according to the law "IT IS LEGAL TO WIN MONEY AS LONG AS YOU ARE NOT RISKING ANY MONEY" and get real chachi if all the billions of letters to all the politicians have not helped by now then its not gonna help anytime soon...wake up and smell the socialism

Saint - SBR's fulfillment is performed from within the US borders, hence anything remotely connected with a pseudo-currency which can be exchanged for betting is verboten, capice?.

And I know the facetiousness of my 'ring your congressman' remark, US politics are a part of why I've not lived there for quite awhile now.

Don't bitch to SBR about the way the industry is going. Bitch to your congressmen about why he thinks he knows what is best for you. You guys are the ones that elect these people who are keeping it illegal for you to gamble. Bitch to those people, or vote them out. You voted them in.

both parties do this. The republicans attached UIGEA to the safe port act. Obama and the dems had complete control for 2 years and did nothing. This current round of crackdowns happened under Obama. Just wish the govt would determine what their cut would be and get it over with

im fine with this. nothing wrong with winning other things at the store. rather have sbr still be up and running rather than them dealing with lawsuits.
