where do u play?
am asking that because u doing well but i am wondering how many points u buy to have such good odds?
like let me make sure am getting it:
u bought 3.5 pts and had -165 for odds?
5dimes let u get 3 point only for -200 so thats why am asking

I play with a local, and I didn't buy 3.5 points, I bought 3 points for 165 because he uses bodog lines and they had the game at +7 (I assume you are talking about the NYK). He gives me -105 on either side and sells me hooks for 10 cents. I could buy more but I don't want to get cut off like he did (partially) on CFB and NFL for playing CP's, going through key numbers, etc.

Funny thing is I actually would have a better record if I had just played the games at -105 with available spreads, but I'm sure as the season plays out that the point buying will turn in my favor.

It helps if you have a local. My local also gives me standard -105 juice when betting spreads, so buying 3 points also costs me -165. That reduced juice helps out alot!

Thanks bro, I'm just taking advantage of the value I get with my local whenever there is any. I play to win 1 unit for every 1% of edge I have so a 5 unit play represents a 5% edge more or less. You can get most games with the same starting spread that I get. Maybe 20% of the games will have a half point difference usually given to the dog because Bodog works that way, the problem is moving from that spread for the price I get. I believe you'll be better off just playing the team without buying any points at the best spread you can get.

I'm hitting close to 70% right now, with the 3-point buy I expect to hit around 67% of the plays so the % I'm hitting right now will go down a few points, that being said most people would be able to get the -165 spreads around -200 or so. On a 4 or 5 unit play or higher, you would be about 0 EV if you play that game for -200, but if you play the 1,2, or 3-unit games and lay -200 then you will lose eventually.

At 70% you could lay -200 on all games and you will still be profitable, but like I said, that percentage will go down and the lower unit games have a fair price in the -170's and -180's so laying -200 to get the 3 points on those games would be horrible.
