#181SUNDAY
Tampa Bay Race No. 8 (4:15 p.m. ET/1:15 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes #6 Back Page (20/1 morning line). Who’s going to go to the lead in his seven-furlong battle of cheap claimers? Back Page might inherit it by default as there’s no definite early speed in this race, and none of them are consistent closers either, so Back Page might just take it wire to wire. Certainly worth a shot at this price or anything in double digits.
Oaklawn Race No. 9 (6:09 p.m. ET/3:09 p.m. PT)
Duane Colucci likes #2 Two Thirty Five (5/1 morning line). “This Richard Baltas trainee drops into a nice spot after holding his own in graded competition the last three in California. Distance cut back also helps. His class alone should be enough to win this tough optional claimer. Also, if the track becomes sloppy – and the forecast calls for rain Sunday at Oaklawn – I will also use #1 Guest Suite (10/1), who is 3-for-4 on a wet track, banking $218,000 over wet surfaces.”

#189BlackJack's Will Rogers Early Pick Four:
Race Three: The (5) Valiant Appeal is my top choice here. First I love Danny Pish and Lane Luzzi together, and second, this horse is dropping in class pretty significantly here after a second place finish at the higher level, and scoring a win two back. Also using (2) and (7).
Race Four: The unfortunately named (3) Nocturnal Mission is the favorite here and with good reason. He's in a good barn with Robertino Diodoro and after two consecutive second place finishes, is now dropping in class significantly. This one should win easy here. A single for me.
Race Five: The (9) Leighton Kentucky is my favorite one here. She's pretty consistent in terms of her effort, she just needs the front end. She likes to play catch me if you can, and she needs the lead. I'll also use (3) and (10).
Race Six: The (1)'s best race wins this thing, but having said that I think I favor the (7) Recorder who has been knocking on the door his last two times out and just finishing short. I'll use the (1), (2), (6) and (8) here.

#201WEDNESDAY
Tampa Bay Race No. 4 (2 p.m. ET/11 a.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes #4 Gesture (5/2 morning line). “This 3-year-old filly takes significant class drop --- from maiden special weight to a $32,000 tag – in this competitive one-mile turf event. Trainer Jonathan Thomas, former assistant to Todd Pletcher, picks up the services of Daniel Centeno to ride this daughter of Tapiture for her second grass try after being shuffled at break vs. easier company on March 29. Look for a stalking trip to end in the winner’s circle. Wager: Win only.”
Tampa Bay Race No. 8 (4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT)
Ed Sehon likes #4 Cliffy (10/1 morning line). “Cliffy aims for his second victory in as many tries as he shortens up from six and a half furlongs on the dirt to a flat-out, five-furlong turf sprint for sneaky good trainer Mike Dini, who is winning at a 20% clip during current meet. The 3-year-old son of Revolutionary takes a big jump in class to $75,000 open claiming while attracting the services of leading rider Antonio Gallardo. Wager: Win, Place & Show.”
Will Rogers Downs Race No. 6 (4:45 p.m. ET/1:45 p.m. PT)
Dave Tuley likes #9 Chatterman (10/1 morning line). Chatterman was 7th of 9 in his Will Rogers debut two weeks ago in a minor stakes race, so I kinda understand the high odds. However, if you throw out that last race, he fits right in with these $15,000 claimers; in fact, he beat 5/2 morning-line favorite #7 Trapalanda as recently as Feb. 25 at Turf Paradise when he posted his second straight come-from behind victory. Looks like value to me.

#210BlackJack's Tampa Late Pick Five:
Race Four: This feels like a two horse race between the (4) and the (9). The (9) Foxglove has come in second in every race he's ran, which is nice, but also makes me wonder a little bit. I'd lean to the (4) Gesture, but use them both.
Race Five: I like the (4) Highland Park Hero best here. He hasn't ever finished out of the money in his career and has run some nice races speed wise along the way. Having said that, this race is deep and you'll want coverage. I'm also using the (1-3), (6) and (8).
Race Six: This race is wide open, with not a lot of great performers in it. I'd lean slightly to the (10) Mast Cove based off three nice races earlier in the year at Tampa, but again coverage is needed. Also using the (1), (4), (7) and (9).
Race Seven: I'm worried about the long layoff for the (7) Blame The Cake, but I'd still lean that way based on the much higher back class possessed. Also using the (5) and (7).
Race Eight: Here's our single. The (8)Summer Assault has run quality races every time out and always at a high level. This shouldn't be too much to ask.Comment
