I thought if the ML was a FAV both plays should be on the ML and no PL. Maybe I have been looking at it incorrectly.

PL is 'puck line'. Typically the favourite has a PL of -1.5, which is a hit if they win by two. The dog will have a PL of +1.5, so it is a hit if they win or lose by one. Basically puck line is just hockey's version of 'the spread'.

Actually, it's the number of bets made not number of bets won.

Just to add to the confusion, ElCapitan lists the team as a "PL" selection when it is a fav and we bet on the ML. In essence, he is comparing JM's system (PL when dog, ML when fav) against a pure ML system, with the same teams.

He usually informs us when to bet on the ML with a "PL" team.

No, the Toronto A bet on the PL won but the A bet on the ML lost which is why the ML now goes to a B bet.

What you have to remember is I'm running two systems (well actually 4 if you count the V1/V2 as different) simultaneously. The ML system plays the team on the ML all the time regardless of if they are the dog/fav and the PL system will take dogs on the PL and favs on the ML. Occasionally when your team loses by 1 goal you win one bet and lose the other - as we have here.

Depending on when you placed your JM A Bet, which determined if you played the ML or RL, you either won the A Bet or you are playing the B Bet tonight. I bet late on Toronto, so I had to play the ML. B Bet for me tonight :-(

As Kev pointed out, sometimes it's all about when and where you make these bets. If the teams are evenly matched some places will have the dog/fav on different sides. As long as you're paying attention and never taking the -1.5, it should work out.

That was an excellent evening's work: 3-0 for the JM (PL) system.

The ML system now faces a C Bet, but this is not unusual for the ML system. A lot less cash is at risk on the ML, as we know, therefore the number of C Bets will be greater. This brings a greater risk of series failures.
